Fast Paced, Easy Read. In general, the book was fast paced and very easy to read. The author's experience in sub-warfare is evident and a vast majority of naval fiction readers will thoroughly enjoy it. The only negative that prevents me from giving 5 stars would be the political aspect of the story line. The characters in this arc are one dimensional, and the lack of their depth is almost distracting. In my opinion, the story would have flowed better by omitting these portions, telling the story through the well-written naval view. No slight intended to the author. It was an excellent book!

Wow, what a book!. I just loved this book! Believable action, not something where none of the good guys get hurt, but more like it really is. Plus plenty of info for teck junkies, plenty of everything. Just read it, you'll see.

An great book and a very good read. Now I am a bit biased as I was in the Navy although not on a destroyer, I was a corpsman in Vietnam. This book was a great read, the characters were well developed and the story line a real page turner. Read it and you will see what I mean

Great SEA story. well written, sometimes a little too technical, but all around a good sea battle tale.

One best in years. Halfway through haven’t had a book in years that I couldn’t put down. This one I need to force myself to take a break. Besides so good I want it to last!!! Not a dull moment so far. Even short history pieces totally interesting. Has revitalized my need to read. Combines the feel of the old Great War novels with the modern facts of today’s world of battle. Thank you for writing this so well!! Can only hope second half is as good as first. I have to know the end but must pace myself at my age lol.

As good as naval combat fiction gets. This book is a treat. Realistic characters and scenarios, tight pacing, and good writing. Suspenseful and occasionally laugh out loud funny. It isn't Shakespeare, East of Eden, or One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, but it's as good as any book in this genre.
