Don't read this book.. Joel was the first preacher I listened to over and over in my headphones before giving my life to Jesus. He is faithfully doing what God has called him to do and I love him! He has NOT watered down the message of Jesus! He is so encouraging and focuses on the positive. I don't think anyone would say we should focus on the negative. The bible says you will know them by their fruit. Joel has a large growing church and it is the work of God. God loves what Joel is doing, because God is the one moving through his ministry! ZERO STARS.

Adam Key Trying to make money of Joel. It seems that Adam needs to read more of Joel's work and become a more positive christian rather than tearing others down. Adam, come up with something original and maybe I'll read it.

This book is an insult to Christianity!. There are many Pastor's available to choose from. Each having their own unique approach to the teachings in the Bible. Just as there are several choices of Bible translations as well. How arrogant each of you are who try to persuade other Christians to think that ONLY YOUR INTERPRETATION OR APPROACH TO "The Word" is the most accurate! Dividing fellow Christians is NOT what Jesus Christ would like you to spend your time doing. Amen? If you don't like a particular Pastor's approach or interpretation then select another. There are many to choose from. I Pray for your sake that you don't happen to believe that ONLY YOUR INTERPRETATIONS of The Word and ONLY YOUR "approved" Bible translation is correct and all others who don't think the way you think are Hell-Bound! If you do then God help you!

Lightness/Darkness. You have it all wrong. Joel Osteen to me is full of love, when he talks about the word of our Heavenly Father I feel the love in it, and I can see it through his eyes (eyes never lie) When I listen to Joel Osteen I feel positive and full of hope and that's exactly what God has called him to do because Jesus wants us to be happy, full of life, and love; not lost,full of hate,anger,bitter,and envy (darkness). This is a perfect example of why there is so much confusion in this world ...if we all learned to live positively and stayed on good energy this world would be such a better place. God bless you all and get saved.

Poorly Written. Don't waste your money. Not worth the 3 buck the author is asking.

Great book, filled with truth!. It is great to read a book whose author stands on the truths of the Bible! However, I would like to offer a couple of suggestions and these are: 1. Change the cover. The content of this book, which is a thorough and coherent dossier of the blasphemous preaching and writings of the "prosperity gospel" movement, might loose its seriousness and even the chance to be purchased (I almost chose not to buy it because the cover looks rather distasteful and insulting). 2. Some of the content needs to be re-written. The sarcasm contained in the book makes it devoid of attractive qualities to the serious reader, as well as, it might make the arguments (which are indeed a set of veritable arguments) within the book look like an "ad hominem" fallacy.

Please Read!!. Read Romans 6! I pray you find your way back to the LORD. Don't let the devil take over your heart & mind, God has a much bigger purpose for you & your writing. Trust me, I know. Also, leave no more comments/reviews, we all need to pray for this person, & not be judging him ourselves.

Don't waste your time. With God using Joel so many would not be where they are at today. I used to think this way about Joel but the Truth is he is anointed for a time and for a Swanson and I consider him the Billy Graham of the 22nd century and if God approves him then who are we to disprove him. Wise Warning. This is a much needed warning for those who believe the half-truths and lies that are espoused by Osteen. The message that Jesus the Christ proclaimed is one of repentance from our sin that separates us from God and eternally condemns us to hell (Mark 1:15; 10:45). Jesus' message is a call to trust in Him alone and in His substitutionary death and His resurrection which proves its efficacy (Romans 3:19-26; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 2:1-9). The ultimate problem with human beings is not their lack of inner peace, but their lack of peace with God (Romans 3:9-18; 5:12; 6:23). All human beings, by nature and by choice, are at enmity with God because they have rebelled against Him and His law (1 John 3:4; Ephesians 2:1-3). The only solution to our real problem, sin, is the one that God offers to us - a Savior who paid the punishment for our sin (1 Peter 3:18). His eternal Son, Jesus, is the only One qualified to save us because He alone suffered the wrath of God that we deserve as a result of our sin (2 Corinthians 5:21). The good news is that we can be forgiven by God and become His children because of what Jesus did for us. This can be our joyful reality if we turn from our sins and trust wholly in Him and His sacrifice (Romans 3:19-26; John 3:14-21).

Joel Osteen Ministry. Do not read this book! My prayer for the author of this book is that he does not quit whatever day job he may have. To judge someone on their faith and not completely understand the powers of Jesus Christ, is something that he will have to someday answer for. ie...there is no way that anyone could understand God and all of his glory and power and still insist on bashing a messenger of God. I'll keep the author in my prayer

Total garbage. This book is filled with total fabrications and is a complete waist of time and money. Boring, uninteresting read. I'm sure life would be better if u told them they can't become anything and to get real because ur all going to die and become dust right.

No star, no blessing!. This book deserves no stars! Satan the devil is the accuser of brethren not believers themselves. God alone will judge His servants for the bible says that judgement will begin in the house of God. Put your effort to writing edification and godly inspiration, not condemnation and judgement. Keep your personal opinion to yourself cos if you find out you're wrong you will most likely not write to recant. What a waste of your life and talent.

A Literary Disgrace. Adam Key here makes a poor and uncalled for attempt in trying to put down a good human being. Describing Osteen's message of practicing good human qualities, backed by the word of god, as him lulling "his listeners into a false sense" and "deceiving them", says more about Key than anything else. You don't even need to waste your "hard earned savings" to buy this ibook for 2.99, because the description here evidently places zero credibility on Key and to be honest, makes a complete mockery out of Key. "sugar coated sewage" ? "hard earned savings" ? "pulpit" "lining his pockets" ? Could Key embarrass himself any further ? Its people's decision to go and worship at his church, or to buy his books. If anything, write a coherent and civilised message to those people expressing your concerns. Osteen isn't going out of his way, grabbing people by the arms and forcing them to support his ministry. Its completely up to the people to decide for themselves if his message will help them, and if not, then they should quitely walk away and perhaps recommend to people why it wasn't for them. But there is no denying that what Osteen is preaching is GOOD and HEALTHY to the human spirit and is CLEARLY what God will endorse, regardless if it was written word for word in the bible or not. He encourages us to live our lives in the same mindset that Jesus lived his, abiding by the ten commandments, being generous, being honest and accepting, being kind and caring, being forgiving and to love, not hate, your enemies and neighbours, being truthful not deceitful - clearly the devil, as Osteen is unjustly portrayed here, is all this and more...well done Key, well done, you have just gained so much respect. He became popular through his appeal to people as an honest and rightful human being, not through advertising or marketing tactics. Tony Robbins makes his work a business - cheating his way through life selling a recycled formula of apparent fool proof methods to get through anything life throws at you. Tickets for his shows sell for in excess of $1000 - what a joke. To see Osteen, you merely pay $10, and that goes towards maintaining Gods church and supporting the people who work for it, not some lambourghini or multimillion dollar mansion. Key is clearly positioning himself on par with the television fool Larry King. Larry King interviewed Osteen on his show, questioning his faith and beliefs and trying to learn about his way of life as a christian - why? because he is popular? because he doesn't understand why? because he's jealous? Here we have King trying his hardest to put Osteen in the eye of public criticism, yet looking back at his own life - he's had something like 5 divorces and even publicly declared Miss Pennsylvania in the 1990 Miss Universe competition "the ugliest" contestant in the pageant. I rest my case.
