Worth the read but I wanted more.. Out of the gates it was really working well for me from JT's childhood through about 1986. Most of the interesting little personal and professional tidbits are there through that point including really interesting details about how the band got their start and breaks early on. I wish one of the club owner's doors I'd knocked on back in the day had magically offered to manage my band Ha! But I digress. From about 1986 to the present JT really starts to skip around quite a bit. From the first album up through Notorious there are tons of details about song writing sessions, the studios and the work itself that went into the albums as well as personal life stuff surrounding it all. Post Notorious the album breakdowns/analysis become pretty brief. The Liberty album is barely mentioned except for to say if flopped. I wanted to know more, why he thought it flopped, what could have been differently, were the songs good at one point, if he could go back what would he change? There was zero mention of the Thank You album or any details surrounding it. It's like once he hit the 90s, he got bored with it. The personal life details are still there to some degree although he does skip around in some cases years at a time on that as well... it's like what were you doing dude? If you were playing Frisbee on the beach for two years, that's cool, just say so and move on. The reunion packed fewer details than I would have liked as well... like why did Andy really leave the second time and how did that all play out from JT/DD perspective? There are relatively few details about Astronaut or RCM sessions/albums. And Reportage is not even mentioned at all. Not even a word about it. That kind of annoyed me. Would love to know what kind of music is on it... why don't they play songs from it? How did it all play out politically?! So all in all definitely worth a read and it did fill a few gaps for me that had been left from Andy's book but left me with just as many new questions. And then it ended sort of anticlimactically for me. Maybe if he'd given the period of 1986-present the same amount of attention as he gave 1960's-1986, I would have given it 5 stars.

Thoroughly enjoyable!. This book is a fun read. It exceeded my expectations. The fashion and lip gloss is fun and all but by the end you realize he has a lot of heart too!

In The Pleasure Groove-John taylor. This book was fanstastic! Great reading! I am glad that John Shared his story, and that he survived all of the stuff he went through. This is a must read for any Duran Duran fan!

Good job JT. I thought this book was fantastic to read I even cried at the end sorry John I know how it is to lose a parent.

An Amazing Book. I’ve read JT’s book & I fell in love w/it. I love John & what he’s done for Duran Duran. I’ve read his book a few times. John has & always will be my favorite member of Duran Duran. My line up of Duran Duran has always been John Andy Simon Nick & Roger but that changed it’s now John Andy Roger Dom Simon & Nick.

Read this or get the audio. John’s masterful way of weaving a tale is one of the best rock memoirs I have ever read. His musical journey takes you back to the earliest days of the group - his tales of excess are exciting and make you feel you were right there with him. I enjoyed it immensely. 5 stars

A genuine and gracious glimpse. This was such an enjoyable read. It was honest, funny, sad, uplifting....genuine. It is not often you get an autobiography that has such a truly interwoven story. This was a really well done, holistic story that started with earliest memories and took you through 2011. Personally, I think this is a story of faith and finding unconditional love from your God. I think the story of Duran is included to sell the book, thus sharing the message. Life. Love. Like many, I do wish there was more about handling addiction and the reunion; however, I don't think this personal edit marginalized the story. We (as fans) have always just wanted everything, haven't we? The digital deluxe version is a MUST for any true Duran fan. It is well designed, interactive, and beautiful to view. Thank you John for doing such a fantastic job. It is sooo nice to discover more about you through the book and the book events and see a glimpse that indicates you really are the person we all have thought for years, decades, you are--a genuine guy.

In the pleasure groove. I’ve read JT’s book & I’ve read Andy’s book as well. Both books are very different from each other. Andy did go into all the details that John did in his book. John tells what the band went through together & what he went through as an individual. I would recommend John’s book to any fun loving Duranie fan.

Good read but hoping for a bit more.... Have read Andy Taylor's book and found it quite informative. I felt John was a little lacking and would have liked to have a bit more "behind the scenes" stuff. Lots of chapters just seemed glossed over without much substance. I have been a lifelong Duran fan (and will continue to be) and enjoy being a part of their evolution. Thanks, John!

a must read for any Duranie!. Wonderful read. As i was reading it, i would go trough my Duran catalog and listen to the album being discussed. Glad to read that John came on top regarding his addictions! I looked forward to reading the book!

Johnnie T. Loved this book. Being a teen in the 80's I was a huge Duran Duran fan. John Taylor being my favourite, of course. I had no idea of his struggles with addiction. Great stories from beginning to end. Love him even more now.

In the Pleasure Groove indeed!. First of all I was a bit worried to read this book. Why you may ask? Well I will tell you why. I am a big Duranie and I was worried the book would somehow ruin how I felt about this band! I am happy to say it made me love them even more. John Taylor has taken his heart and put it on paper for the world to read. He takes you back in time to the his childhood days, the 70's, 80's on up to the present and shows you what life was truly like for him. Not only being a member of Duran Duran, but as a son, father, husband and a friend. He is honest, charing, and at times heartbreaking. This is a well written book and should be read not only by the fans but by anyone who loves great biographies.

Well written. An honest and well written account and journey of the 80's rise of the co founder of Duran Duran. I never read a bio so quick, just could not put this book down however I think you may have to be a fan of the 80's to truly appreciate

In The Pleasure Groove - John Taylor. He's very open and honest with his story. Very raw and real and makes me an even bigger fan! I love him even more for being human!

Great Read. Fantastic book for any Duran fan! Well written with open and honest accounts of what life was like being in one of the biggest bands in the 80's.
