Faking It by Cora Carmack Book Summary

Mackenzie "Max" Miller has a problem. Her parents have arrived in town for a surprise visit, and if they see her dyed hair, tattoos, and piercings, they just might disown her. Even worse, theyโ€™re expecting to meet a nice wholesome boyfriend, not a guy named Mace who has a neck tattoo and plays in a band. All her lies are about to come crashing down around her, but then she meets Cade.

Cade moved to Philadelphia to act and to leave his problems behind in Texas. So far though, heโ€™s kept the problems and had very little opportunity to take the stage. When Max approaches him in a coffee shop with a crazy request to pretend to be her boyfriend, he agrees to play the part. But when Cade plays the role a little too well, theyโ€™re forced to keep the ruse going. And the more they fake the relationship, the more real it begins to feel.

Thumbs up!!. I really enjoyed this book. :) "Losing It" was cute but I enjoyed "Faking It" even more!!! I โค Cade!! :D

Enjoyed this. I liked first one so much I bought the second one. And was not disappointed. Waiting for #3.

Loved this book. Faking it was such a good book totally recommend it

Even better than Losing it!. I love Cade! I think I liked this better than Losing It. I will be waiting for a follow up to their story as well.

Loved it. This book was so good it had me trapped in it the three days it took me to read it! Definitely on to the next!

I want more!. Love the book but the ending was too rushed for me. I wanted more. Max's longest relationship was 3 months and that is where this ended at with Cade. I so want to know if things were better for them a year later. Other than that I really liked the story. It was a nice change of course than the traditional tattoo bad boy and good girl story line.

Love it!! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜. This story was amazing and sweet I totally felt in love with Cade and glad to see he got to love again after he got his heartbroken from Bliss (Which its the first book). However, I would of like it to continue; more i felt like it ended to fast. Max!!! got on my nerves so much but i'm glad she got to see at the end what a wonderful man cross her path. I really recommend this book you'll totally fall for Cade just the way he is and being a decent guy and most of all being a gentlemen and sexy as hell, which in reality its sad to know those kind of men don't exist anymore. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ”ฅ

I Fell in love with this book!. Never judge a book by its cover! I thought since the front cover had kind of a sexual look it was going to be sexual so I decided to get the same first. After reading a couple of chapters I rapidly decided to buy the book! It's a great book, it makes you want to keep reading it... Or at least it happened to me since I finished the book in three days! Totally a must buy!

Sweet, solid love story. Max is in trouble. Her parents are coming, expecting her to be the well-behaved and presentable young lady they think she should be, and then there's the matter of the non-existent perfect boyfriend. Okay, so she does have someone, but he's nothing like the kind of guy they think she should be with, and that means she's got to come up with a plan. Enter "Golden Boy," perfectly dressed, well-spoke, and absolutely presentable. Now they just have to convince her parents that they're a couple, wait till her parents leave, and then they'll just go their separate waysโ€ฆ Right? The Verdict: I absolutely loved Losing It, and watching Cade walk away broken hearted when Bliss fell for Garrick was hard. So I was thrilled that the super-sweet guy would get his own story โ€” and happily ever after, with any luck โ€” in Faking It. I suppose the plot is a bit standard; there are an awful lot of stories that start with the whole "will you pretend to be my significant other?" bit, but that didn't make me look forward to it any less. On the outside, Max is edgy, refusing to conform, but she's really quite normal in that she simply wants the independence to pursue her passion โ€“ music. Cade, on the other hand, is not what he seems at first glance. He looks straight laced and somewhat conservative, but we know he's fun loving, teasing, and even a bit mischievous at time. He and Max may at first seem like an odd couple, but they really are quite perfect for each other. Unfortunately, I read Faking It directly on the heels of Losing It, and it's impossible not to compare the two. In fact, I loved the first book so much that I was dying for more, so I guess in that sense I went in with really high expectations. But where Garrick and Bliss were both sweet and hilarious, where I spent just as much time laughing at Bliss's antics as I did swooning over Garrick, Faking It, while sweet, lacks a lot of that crazy fun. I imagine if I picked this book up entirely on its own, without having a clue about the story that came before it, I probably would given it a higher rating, but since I picked it up primarily because I wanted more of what book one so perfectly offered, I ended up being a little disappointed. Faking It is a sweet, solid love story, and it's great to see Cade get his well-deserved happily ever after, but I wanted the insanity of the first book, and it didn't really carry over into this one.

Faking It. Wow this was an awesome read! I loved Losing It but this was ten times better!

So good. Best book I've read in a while finished in a day amazing read definitely buy it and read it!!!!!!!!

Most awesome book. Cade and Max have the most intense chemistry. It's like yin and yang. Awesome book!

Lovely Story. I absolutely loved this book. I stayed up until the wee hours reading Losing It (also great) and then Cade and Max's story, which made me laugh and cry and root for them all the way. The ending felt a little rushed, but overall a great book.

Cute read. Really cute, some parts got a little drawn out but it was overall a good read. I did like Losing It a little more though.

Really good. I loved this book. I love this author. I recommend you read all of her books!

Faking It. A really good read. I read Losing It when it first came out and enjoyed it. I liked Faking It even better. A good story of two broken people who find each other when they need it most. Witty and well written. Nicely done Cora Carmack!

Faking It. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The characters were believable. I loved their vulnerability and determination to go for what they truly wanted...from their individual lives and each other. I didn't want it to end.

Oxymoron: A well-written romance!. I admit it. Despite poor writing, I am one of the Fifty Shades converts to the romance category. I put up with sometimes painful writing, repetitive and unimaginative storylines, and predictable sex scenes . . . All very formulaic. Then along comes Cora Carmack, and she smacks me in the head as if to say . . . You know what? Running a spell checker on a manuscript isn't hard. Fleshing out your characters isn't a waste of time. Setting out your minor characters to lay the groundwork for your next book doesn't have to be so obvious that it insults our intelligence. Thank you, Cora, for the first well-written romance I've read in fifty shades of forever.

YAAAASSSSS!๐Ÿ™Œ. This book was the ABSOLUTE BEST! I wanna erase my memory and read it again. If you have $5 you better cop this hoe!๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Better than the First!!!. Oh my goodness! I LOVED this story. Way to go, Cora!!!

Faking it...Sooo good!. Loved it!! I read "Losing It" awhile ago and thought it was amazing! When I saw that additional books had been written by this author I couldn't wait to read them! Great reads!! I'm really looking forward to "Finding It"!

Easy read, perfect fit for summer!. Enjoyed the novel overall, it was fairly simple to fall in love with both the main characters! Carmack did a wonderful job describing the emotions of Cade and Max; they were vividly descriptive. The only con I have to say about the book is that there were simple grammatical errors throughout the novel, which slightly made Faking It a bit less enjoyable.

Download it now. I read Losing It and it was good. Faking it is so much better. I laughed out loud a few times, and I cried too. Worth the $.

Great read.. Liked the back and forth style. Easy to read. Didn't want to put it down. Didn't want it to end.

losing it was better. i like carmackโ€™s writing a lot, but cade and max seemed less developed and more cliche than bliss and garrick. i will be reading more in the series, though!

Better than Losing It..... Ahhhhh I loved this more than the other book with Bliss. Somehow I was completely intertwined with Cade and his story with Max, much more than the previous book with Bliss and Garrick. This story had so much more than I expected ....tension, heartbreak, friendship, sex, and love. I laughed, cried, smiled and loved the story of Cade and Max!!! Onto the next book

Even better than the first one!. Faking It is Cade's story. A minor character in Losing It, it was great to get to know him better. I love that he's a nice guy, but he's also a hot guy. :) I really loved the scenes with him and Max. They made me laugh out loud, get a little weepy, and definitely swoon. This is a great book. And if you haven't read Losing It, that doesn't matter. You don't have to read these books in order.

It was ok. Losing It was a much better book, this follows Cade, from first book. Something about it could have made it a wee bit better.

Enjoyed It!!. Love who the characters are! And the fact that Cora referenced my fave tv show TVD! Lol

Excellent. My first iBook! I downloaded it on a whim and I finished it in 3 days. Not my usually type of story but it was fun, emotional, sexy and intriguing!

Faking it. 'Losing it' was defiantly better to me...it has a lot of humor but faking it had a lot of emotion....

Melts my heart. I purchased this book yesterday and I just finished it today. It was a struggle for me to stop flipping the pages and set the book on the table. This book isn't a typical love story. It isn't the kind that make people roll their eyes. It's the kind of story that's realistic. Cora Carmack brilliantly created characters that you care about. You want them to find love and happiness, but the conventional way.
