All Broke Down by Cora Carmack Book Summary

In this second book in New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cora Carmack’s New Adult, Texas-set Rusk University series, which began with All Lined Up, a young woman discovers that you can’t only fight for what you believe in . . . sometimes you have to fight for what you love

Dylan fights for lost causes. Probably because she used to be one.

Environmental issues, civil rights, education—you name it, she’s probably been involved in a protest. When her latest cause lands her in jail for a few hours, she meets Silas Moore. He’s in for a different kind of fighting. And though he’s arrogant and not at all her type, she can’t help being fascinated with him. Yet another lost cause.

Football and trouble are the only things that have ever come naturally to Silas. And it’s trouble that lands him in a cell next to do-gooder Dylan. He’s met girls like her before—fixers, he calls them, desperate to heal the damage and make him into their ideal boyfriend. But he doesn’t think he’s broken, and he definitely doesn’t need a girlfriend trying to change him. Until, that is, his anger issues and rash decisions threaten the only thing he really cares about, his spot on the Rusk University football team. Dylan might just be the perfect girl to help.

Because Silas Moore needs some fixing after all.

Cora's done it again. i LOVE all of coras books, but this is hands down, by far my favorite of hers so far! i was pretty much devastated when i reached the last page of the epilogue and there was nothing more to read... I NEED MORE OF #thesilasvirus cora!!! please! 😍😍😍😍😍

Incomplete. Really liked this story but felt the ending was rushed and left many things unresolved. Like issues with her parents and his mother.

:D. I loved this book so much. Cora is just that amazing.

Another AWESOME CC Book. All Broke Down is the second book in Cora Carmack's Rusk University series, following All Lined Up. This installment features football player and "bad boy" Silas Moore and activist Dylan Brenner. I didn't think I could love a CC book as much as I loved Losing It. Then I read All Lined Up. Then I read All Broke Down. And let me tell you......you will fall in love with college football, Rusk University and most importantly, Silas Moore after you read this book. The characters are, as always lovable and REAL. And Carmack's writing is flawless. Congratulations Cora Carmack on another brilliant NA book.

MUST READ!!!. This novel was simply fantastic. Cora never ceases to amaze me with the worlds she creates and how one cannot help but be drawn into them. All is takes is one page. Favorite Quote: “Dear World… In case you missed it, Silas Moore is jaw-dropping, mind-blanking, word-fumbling gorgeous. And he made me a sandwich. “ Now Silas. With book one I really wasn’t sure where I stood with him. It could have been because my mind was all up on Carson, but I wasn’t a fan of Silas. As soon as this novel started, I wanted to be all up on him as well. Who knew. Silas has a lightness to him that you can see battling to beat out the dark. He wants to make better choices, he wants to be worthy of someone. When his bad choices leave him with pent up anger, and no football, he realizes he needs to make some changes, and fast. Dylan wants to dave the world. She wants to be that person that makes a difference. Her life hasn’t been an easy one, but she stands strong and fights for what she believes in. This round, she believes in Silas. ABD When Silas and Dylan cross paths is a sight to behold. I felt the electricity zapping between them from the first words they spoke to each other. Two opposite forces coming together to give us a story to behold. Dylan is a force to be rocked with, and the cocky and yet very broken Silas is a foe that puts her to the test. Don’t worry though, Dylan’s GOT THIS, she isn’t now to back down from a fight as you will soon see. ALBDTeaser Cora up-shows herself even more with this book. I didn’t think i could fall more in love with a character and she proved me wrong, t never know what I am going to get from her, other then a novel I will surely love. Theres characters are sow ell rounded and relatable, they you can’t ell but see them in everyone you know. They remind you of yourself. I swear I see my self thinking about them days and months after the novels are over, knowing that I will soon get to jump back into bed with them.. or.. Uh..I mean with another book in their world. Ahem. This book is an easy read the flows wonderfully. The chapters are well placed and don’t drag on. The writing is superb as well as the elopement and the plot twists that you don’t see coming. I was a little broken reading this, I won’t lie. I need the next book in this series and I need it now. Welcome to Rusk University. By the time you read this series you’ll never want to leave.

Silas - Yum!. So I just want to jump up and down and go crazy a bit…….. I absolutely adored, enjoyed, loved, and consumed All Broke Down. I can honestly say I liked it even better than All Lined Up…. It’s crazy to say that but I have officially caught the #SilasVirus! It is so contagious and addicting! So, there are two main characters in this story…. Dylan and Silas! It is told from both of their POVs. They meet in jail, which sounds crazy, but it works for this story! They embark on a journey together that twists and turns but eventually will stable out … but the question is can they possibly be more than friends or will being friends be hard enough? Let’s begin with Silas….. Holy-Mother-Of-Abs…. he is HOT! I mean H-O-T! He is also arrogant because he knows he is hot. He knows how the girls look at him but he also knows how to get them off. *fans myself* “I’ll kiss you until you forget to breathe” Silas has a past though that he is trying to escape, one that he wants to outrun and never look back. The past though will eventually catch up to us all and we must realize it is how we handle our past that shows how good we will be in our future. He also keeps Dylan at arm’s length because he thinks she is too good for him and he will bring her down. “He’s right, you know. I will pull you down with me.” I lift my chin and reply, “If I go down, it will be because I jumped, not because you made me fall.” I really liked Dylan’s character. Although she was so busy pleasing everyone else that she lost who she truly was, she wasn’t one of those whiney girls! She didn’t annoy me as much but there were times I wanted to yell at her and say, “Just jump on him already”! (Seriously… what girl in their right mind wouldn’t take that chance) Silas works his way under Dylan’s skin though…. It’s that #SilasVirus I mentioned earlier. “Charm. I resist the urge to snort. Charm is smooth and subtle. Silas Moore is a force of nature. A freaking avalanche. He doesn’t have a subtle bone in his body.” I loved being able to see little glimpses of Carson and Dallas. We also got to see Stella too! I will say it was hard to read the ending with Stella…. I know that it is something you shouldn’t take lightly but when these characters feel so real, like friends, you don’t want to see them go through something like that. Cora did a phenomenal job with this story and I can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve for the next Rusk University novel!

Brilliant. OMG! I've been trying to gather my words to express how much I LOVED this book! This book is phenomenal! It is filled with traditional 'Cora' wit, awkwardness and one of the best love stories. We previously met Dylan in All Lined Up and this is the story of her and Silas...swoon!!! He has become one of my favorite all time book boyfriends (yes that hot!). If you love hot football guys and unlikely heroines, this book is for you~! "The look in his eye flattens me, twists me up, and wrings me out. A girl could read all kinds of things into the look he is giving me" - Dylan 5 stars!

I love Silas!. I loved this book! I didn't know if i would like Silas from the first book, but I saw a whole different side to him in this book. I loved how vulnerable he was. i loved that he was aware of his issues and tried his hardest to be better. I hated when Torres and Brookes were so mean to Silas! Way to kick a guy when he's down! Dylan was right, they really don't know him, but it's not really their fault. I loved Dylan with Silas. She really pushed him to be better and he taught her to be herself. I loved their dynamic. He was so sweet with her and i loved how all his friends were shocked whenever they were together lol. I cried a little for Silas when Dylan hurt him so bad. I'm glad it worked out though. And I'm ready for Stella's book. I hope she gets justice. That authors not at the end made me so sad. But enough of that. Silas and Dylan were awesome and i loved their book! I only wish there was more! I wish we really got a scene with Silas brother because he was so sad when he heard the news. I wish it went deeper with his mom and brother. But i still loved it and can't wait for the next book and i'm so ready for Stella's book.

Get infected!. I REALLY don't know how Cora does it but each book she writes is better than the last (and when the last is stellar, that's saying something!) I'm so so so So So So Pleased with how ABD turned out and I honestly can't wait for all of you to get your grabby hands on this book! If you're on the fence, jump off of it now - and buy this book!! If you haven't read ALL LINED UP, then that's okay - they can be read as stand alones - (but you should totally read it too). If you're a fan of zero fun and not very hot guys though, you probably shouldn't buy this book ;) You are going to love Silas and Dylan. What are you waiting for? The Silas Virus is real and it feels so good!

Cora Carmack is Always a MUST READ. All Broke Down is my favorite Cora Carmack book so far. Silas Moore is an excellent bad boy. He is a lost cause and after a night of drinking and fighting, he ends up locked in a cell. Dylan Brenner has lived her whole life trying to be a what every expects her to be; until she fights for the wrong cause and she finds herself in jail. Sparks fly between Dylan and Silas from the very beginning, but neither of them is looking for anything permanent or real. Since Dylan specializes in championing lost causes, she takes up the fight attempting to rescue Silas from the dead-end path he is on. Silas makes it his goal to loosen Dylan up and help her discover who she truly is. Carmack writes amazing friendships and strong characters. Even her peripheral characters are amazing and they make a lasting impression. (Have you met the ever-shirtless Torres?) Cora's writing has grown into something truly amazing. Her books will always be on my 'MUST READ' list.

Silas is HOT. omg I loved Silas!! This was a great book that I stayed up until 2 AM to finish reading it. A book that definitely stays with you when you are finished!

Silas has a dirty mouth!. All Broke Down is the second book in the Rusk University series, and can be read as a standalone. For those of you who haven't read the first book in the series, All Lined Up, Silas was kind of a huge jerk. I did not like him AT ALL. I was equal parts excited and nervous about this book because I thought for sure there was nothing that could be done to redeem him for me. But of course, Cora knocked my socks off and made me fall in love with this bad boy. He has a foul mouth, and runs through girls like they are going out of style. He is on the verge of losing his spot on the team as well as the few friends he has left. Our main girl Dylan is nothing to sneeze at either. She is always taking up for the little guy, protesting for the underdog. One such protest has landed her in jail, where she just so happens to meet Silas. In a general sense, jail is probably not the best spot to meet a significant other. To Dylan, it's the perfect spot to find the next lost cause. Silas feel differently at first, not wanting anyone's pity. It doesn't take much for him to realize how much better he feels having Dylan around, and looking for ways to spend time with her. I love the dynamic of Silas and Dylan. The ultimate good and and ultimate bad. They are written so well, and their personalities blend wonderfully to brig them both towards the middle ground. Silas helps Dylan become just a little bit bad, and Dylan brings out the good in him. Their journey is not without missteps and misunderstandings, but both Dylan and Silas work hard towards finding their way towards becoming a better person. Dylan and Silas's story shows a lot of character growth from beginning to end, and there are situations that come up throughout the book that show how each character is growing and changing as a person. One such situation occurs at the very end of the story. Although it does a good job of showing how Silas has changed and matured, some readers might feel that it leaves some loose ends for other characters. I mostly enjoy books where everything is tied up in perfect little bows. I suppose that's not life though, and I'll be interested to see in what direction Cora takes the story in the next book.
