Surprisingly awesome.. This book really caught me off guard. The author perfectly captured the innocent-yet-immature viewpoint of a child and sent their characters on a thrilling mystery. Honestly, I didn't figure out whodunit until very close to the wrap up-a surprise which I was very delighted by! Readers learn things as Frankie learns them, making the pace of the mystery believable. The characters are also distinct and memorable, helping to breathe life into the tale as a whole. This deserves to be a book people pay for.

I Didn't Steal Your Mermaid. I read this not knowing it was written for tweens. Although I am many decades past my tweens I found this a fun read. I was impressed that the author used a real location and portrayed it accurately, which made the story that much better.
