LA DIVINA COMEDIA by ICPNA Book Summary
La Divina Comedia, escrita entre 1308 y 1321 en lengua vulgar, en versos endecasílabos, obra cumbre del poeta italiano Dante Alighieri (ca. 1265–1321) es, además, una de las más importantes de la literatura universal. Se trata de un poema organizado en tres grandes cantos: Infierno, Purgatorio y Paraíso, que su autor lo calificó como comedia por la variedad de escenas y tonos empleados; de esta manera lo distinguió de la tragedia y de la elegía. El epíteto “divina” se lo dio Giovanni Boccaccio y quedó fijado a partir de la edición veneciana de 1555. Este tesoro poético conformado por más de 800 hojas manuscritas, está organizado en más de catorce mil versos redactados en lengua vernácula florentina donde cada cántico finaliza con la palabra “estrellas”, con la esperanza que ellas dan. Se trata de un viaje sobrenatural en el cual Dante, guiado por el poeta latino Virgilio (la Razón), haya el sendero correcto que antes había extraviado, en marcha al encuentro con Beatriz, la encarnación del Amor.
