Better and Better. Abbi Glines strikes again with her latest installment in the Smoke series, Ashes. So good, could not put it down!. Omg, this series just keeps getting better. Each novel when I read I think this is my favorite, but this novel is my favorite. I was excited to jump into this novel and it grabbed hold of me and held on tight until the very last page. I loved Oakley and Wilder. Although there were moments I wanted to shake them. I loved the dialogue and banter in this novel. So good! I love when a novel keeps me on the edge of my seat reading to discover what is coming next. This novel checked all of my boxes. This novel broke my heart and by the end put all the pieces back together. I loved it! I can't wait to see what is coming next.

Never disappoints. Abbi Glines has done it again, taken these big bad men and turned them into a fierce lover. I always look forward to seeing a single dad especially a girl dad. Oh and evil stepsisters.

Oakley and Wilder!. These just keep getting better, I will pick up every single book in the smoke series. This one brought on a new group of characters still interconnected with The Hughes family. So so good!

Single Dad and Second Chances. I just finished this book and I can honestly say I hated for it to end I loved it that much. I loved Oakley and Wilder’s story well part of it. This book had betrayal, truths, and lies. It’s funny the woman that Wilder made the biggest mistake of his life with brought him back to the woman he never should’ve hurt in the first place. I just wish we would’ve gotten an epilogue with this because I wanted to know where things headed for the two of them. The author brought moments when I wanted to hate the MMC and my heart wanted to break for FMC. These two people belonged together and because of lies and jealousy and bitterness and insecurities they lost 9 long years. But they also gained a memorable little girl that was the result of Wilder’s biggest mistake or regret. This book has it all, a look back into their past, both of them dealing with moving on and trying to move on. But if it wasn’t for Sarah and Wilder’s family I don’t think Wilder would’ve ever came around. This book has it all spice and chemistry from the moment they locked eyes. I got to read the first chapter of the next book coming out in February and all I can say is Please Come Soo

Second Chance!!. I was a little less excited for a leading man barely remembered. Wilder was just a blip on the radar in past books. After what happened it was hard for me to like him. He had to work hard for that but he did finally succeed. Oakley I felt every bit of her heartbreak and pain. She captured my heart. All I knew of you before today was what a beauty you were, but that beauty goes deep. You are a good soul, and I want that female influence in my granddaughter’s life. Love this series and just can’t wait for more. We met a whole new family of men that are waiting for there stories.

Addictive!. I liked Wilder from when he appeared in Straight Fire, so I was excited to read his story. I read this book with a lot of fascination and some frustration. I can’t believe a guy can be so dumb and stubborn in trying to hate a woman that deep down, he really loves. How can you know a woman and not really know how she operates? The question of the year! Wilder and Oakley met when she was sixteen, he was twenty-three. From the get-go, Wilder was entranced by Oakley’s beauty and warm personality. He only befriended her because he deemed her too young for him. He kept them on a friendship basis until she turned eighteen, then they started dating until she went to college and he went hostile to her. Soon he was marrying her stepsister whom he got pregnant, and thus starts nine years of unrequited love and enmity. I was so angry at Wilder! He suddenly starts hating her and never thought to talk to her and clear things up? As the book progresses and the mafia business starts heating up, truths are revealed little by little. In all events, Oakley is only guilty of loving Wilder without hope and without much pride. Her feelings and her heart are always open and visible as she loves this man and forgives him for the way he treats her. I loved Oakley, her generous spirit and how hard she loves. Loved little Sarah, who had an idillic childhood thanks to Oakley and none to her mother. As for Wilder, I could cheerfully smack him for being such an idiot. I loved how he progressed from being a jerk to Oakley, to being grateful for making little Sarah happy, to being possessive and jealous, and finally!, giving in to the huge love he’s always had for her. The story, as all the stories in this series, is fascinating and riveting. I loved the glimpses we got of Gage, Kye, Hunk, and Blaise. This is the Georgia branch of the Southern Mafia and I can’t wait to continue reading on the other guys, especially Thatcher. He gives me vibes he’s psycho like Gage!

Spice, drama and a pupper 🐶. As someone who has read a lot of Abbi’s books, this one definitely surprised me. I love the way these books have taken down a darker, more adult theme, and as someone who doesn’t like a whole lot of flashbacks, I found myself wanting to know more about their history, the flashbacks perfectly set the picture to Oakley and Wilders tangled relationship. It’s one of those slow burns that makes you want to scream at the main characters to pull their heads out of their asses, but I’d be lying to myself if slow burns weren’t the best kinds of books. The history of Wilder and Oakley made me hurt for both of them and made my heart do little somersaults (which is a rare thing these days when you read so many romance novels). It’s an easy read but like always, packed with enough to get you attached to the characters. My only downside is that by the end I wanted more! I hope we get to read more about how their story continues. Special mention to Belladonna, the bestest most loyal friend a little girl could ask for 🐶
