Anno 2067. I palestinesi hanno conquistato quasi tutta Israele e il mondo, ormai preda della siccità, è governato da multinazionali cinesi, giapponesi e ucraine che controllano le sorgenti e la distribuzione di acqua fresca. Maya è alla ricerca del marito Ido, un ingegnere giovane e brillante scomparso improvvisamente proprio quando stava per mettere a punto la sua invenzione, il ji-ji, un sistema di depurazione dell’acqua piovana che avrebbe consentito a ognuno di procurasela da solo e quasi gratuitamente. Tra giallo e thriller, Idromania ci racconta un futuro non troppo lontano e facilmente immaginabile, un futuro dove lo sviluppo delle tecnologie è altrettanto rapido quanto lo sfaldarsi dei legami sociali. Un romanzo intelligente e inquietante che fa sorgere domande particolarmente attuali e al tempo stesso tiene il lettore con il fiato sospeso per la sorte di Ido e per la tenacia e il coraggio di Maya che lotta per ritrovare il marito e liberare il proprio villaggio dai mercanti dell’acqua.
