Sweet and steamy. This story is truly sweet, but not in the toothache kind of way, but in a way that melts your heart just a little bit. The heartstrings are pulled, as Our girl goes through a very relatable devastating moment. Her heart is completely broken, and she almost doesn’t make it out alive. She tries to overcome with a game that guarantees to keep her disconnected. A way to never get hurt again, which leads her straight into Jackson’s arms. This story has a lot of up, downs, twists, and freaking turns. I really enjoyed read this book. This has become a favorite author of mine, and going back to one of her first stories, shows how amazing sh always was, and still is, at storytelling. I highly recommend this book!

...... “Black women can definitely blush.” .....please explain why this statement was necessary?! And seriously, there's only ONE therapist in the entire world? Decent enough book though there were certain statements that were completely unnecessary within the development of the storyline. Not crazy about the flashbacks at the end of each chapter. I think these could have been better to woven into the story as she progresses her relationship with Jackson.

BROKEN. Broken is the hottest book I have ever read. I can’t believe that I attacked my husband,twice a day,until I finished reading it. However, it did take me longer to finish reading your book due to taking a breaks. He loved it too. Especially when I would read parts of your book to him, as he was busy with me. %’)

Broken. Book porn. That’s what this book is. 95% sex 5% story. The story would’ve actually been really good if more time was spent developing it and less on the sex scenes.

Broken. It was a roller coaster ride through this relationship.

Frustrating. Overall, the think the story is good. It is well written but I was really frustrated with the main characters. I didn't like either of them very much. The best part of the book was the flashbacks. They were the only time I cared about the characters. Andi cried WAY too much. I would have loved to see her slap Jackson for the way he treated her. I loved the supporting characters and probably will read their books in this series.

Good Read. The story is a little explicit, but getting past that (too much for me) it’s a good story. There are sad points when it's expressed why Jackson is so broken. Andi’s “hurt” doesn’t compare to his for a few reasons. When she caught her fiancé with another woman, they weren’t married and although there is a certain commitment, it doesn’t at all reach marriage commitment. Her character was written to go overboard and did she ever. Her entire world was wrapped up in her fiancé giving him complete control of her life, emotionally and physically. To counter the effect that witnessing her fiance with another woman had on her as a whole, she began having random sexual encounters with random men who were “cute” or “were willing to play the game”. The author named what it's called when a woman arbitrarily gives herself to a stranger for the weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) a game played out in either her place or his, the stranger. She becomes increasingly annoyed when they don't want to “play” the game the way it was meant to be played which is a hot sexual experience for the weekend with no strings and no additional contact. The way I see it, she never truly loved Bray, her ex-fiance. If she did, she would have never behaved in such an egregious manner when it came to her heart and her body. She was reckless and dangerous with her life and with the lives of the person playing “the game”. That was the only part of the story that I had trouble wrapping my head around the character's form of “therapy”. Since she behaved in such a way, calling her innocent and smart was not the proper word choice. She was neither of those words. She was the direct opposite of those two words. It was kind of sad to watch her character go in the direction she did with wild abandon. Jackson's heart was truly broken. His character development was clear. Not so much with Andi. In the end, they confessed their love and emotionally moved to a better place. However, given what the characters went through, mainly Jackson, their idea of love may be a bit askew.
