Climax dull. Good at times, boring at times...was expecting more at the end

A Masterful Piece of Literature. David Mitchell weaves an elaborate and wonderful tale that will leave you captivated. A must read for serious David Mitchell fans.

God-aweful. About 600 pages too long. Good idea, way too much drivel. Couldn't stomach finishing it past page 700; the first time ever for me.

Still thinking about this book. I finished this book weeks ago, then began to read Mitchell’s other work, and am still thinking about the characters (Holly!) of this book. Really great book.

The Bone Clocks. Well, glad that I'd finished it. Not sure it will appeal to most, but a compelling ride none the less. I'm sorta glad that I won't make it to 2048, the future is not bright.

Wonderful as always. A great book, made even better by reading Mitchell's other works. Demands re-reading. The end leaves you wanting, but it's hard to complain.

Not for lovers of fluff. If you enjoy easy-to-read mindless fluff, look somewhere else. David Mitchell isn't for everyone. If you enjoy having your vocabulary and mind stretched, look no further. Loved every page of this book and everything I've read by this author. He restored my faith in fiction.

Terrific Book!. I admit that I am a big David Mitchell fan and I was anxious to see what direction his first novel, post Cloud Atlas fame, would take - and I wasn’t disappointed. In fact, I feel like he uses different characters within the novel to reveal some of his own challenges in attempting to serve a growing readership. Like his previous novels, The Bone Clocks is a challenging read, but I find that challenge to be well worth taking on. I would miss many crucial story points and find certain passages difficult to follow without the assistance of iBooks’ dictionary, Wikipedia, and Google translate available at a tap. Once again, his characters are dripping with all of the virtues and flaws of humanity, the scope of his story is staggering, and his subject matter encourages me to examine my own thoughts and beliefs about life and how it’s lived. I am always amazed at his ability to paint vivid scenery inside my mind with just a few cleverly selected phrases. The Bone Clocks, somehow, combines all of Mr. Mitchell’s works into one complex storyline that unites humanities’ history, its current events, and sobering glimpses of its (possible) future while further revealing the carefully crafted ‘David Mitchell’ omniverse.

terrible story line. too complicated.. Awful story line, not that interesting a story and totally disorganized. Don't bother with this one.

The Bone Clocks. I found this book pretentious and yes mind numbing, but not in a good way. The author seems bent on impressing the reader with his large vocabulary and his knowledge of music, art etc.The only interesting parts were his predictions for life in the next 25 years. The characters were shallow and mostly hollow.

Not for the lazy. If you're voting Trump, skip this book. You'll hate it. Bone Clocks is challenging and, for some, might require a dictionary or a web-ready device nearby. It is clever. It is well-paced. It is resonant in unpredictable ways.

Bone clocks. Awesome book. I loved it

All of the negative reviews have errors. This book does require a high level of English language proficiency... I notice that all of the seething negative reviews have little spelling errors or weird grammar. I feel your frustration, and I think your reviews will help others who will need to wait for this story to be turned into a series on Prime Video or wherever. This book deals with profound concepts and big stories, all with a high amount of class consciousness. I also think that some readers were offended that the author expected them to understand all of these bourgeois references from 3 decades ago in the 2nd part of the book... lol Also, the 3rd part is so fascinating and well researched! I learned a lot about the Iraq war while being completely gripped by the story. Thank you for this great book, Mr. Mitchell.

Review: There are many interesting elements in The Bone Clocks. David Mitchell deals with a rich tapestry of psychic powers. It is a story of psychic predators and those who seek to stop them. Caught up in this centuries long war is a young girl with psychic powers of her own. Her running a way triggers a series of events that scar her and influence the rest of her life. The book uses the first person point of view. However, the book makes huge jumps in time and constantly shifts points of view. While there are a few gripping comments, much of the book is long exposition and far from a page turner. The author makes use of flashbacks which further arrests the forward progress of the story.

Bone clock. Boring! I made it till page 112. Wasting my time

Excellent. The more times I read it, the more Easter eggs are revealed. And I don't have to think deeply to feel that I am living deeply through this book.

Wow. I’ve never read a book quite like it. Ingenious, mind-bending plot, and wholly unique structure. Incredible writing!

unforgettable. Another unforgettable and beautiful story by the author. I loved how the book ties back to the beginning and delighted in all the self-references. The author’s mastery of language is stunning. I screenshotted passages to read again and again.

Long and boring.. I'm not even close to finishing and I honestly feel like I won't. I kind of agree with the negative reviews, especially about the author trying to show off his extensive vocabulary. It takes away from the enjoyment of the book. Reading this book is like watching a long movie with a lot of slow scenes and all I want to do is fast forward to the good parts! I wish I could get my money back.
