Captive review!. I was really sad when Kate had another miscarriage, but when she found out that she was pregnant again I was so happy and then they adopted melody and shortly after that they had their baby and I was so happy for them! I wish these books of Kate and Ryker were made into movies! I give this book a 10 of 10

An emotional journey. If you haven't read Bound yet, read it now. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200. Go read it now and then read Captive. This series is an amazingly wonderful, emotional journey. Captive picks up 2 years later. We get to see what has happened over the last 2 years through several flashbacks. Kate and Ryke's journey is very emotional, and very real. In Bound they each suffered their own loss. In Captive, they suffer loss together. What makes this book great is how real the characters are. Many people have gone through what Kate has gone through. All the thoughts and feelings that both Kate and Ryke express are very real, and very relatable. Brenda certainly has a way of making you cry, but she can also make you laugh. At times it was difficult to read through the tears, but she mixes in just the right amount of humor. We see Kate and Ryke work through their struggles, and while things are not perfect, the story is perfect. Brenda did an amazing job with both Bound and Captive. I can not wait to read about Luke in the next book.

Awesome!!!!. This was an amazing read! The characters are relatable, the plot is realistic and the emotion behind the experiences is authentic. Great book!

Uplifting Story. I had a hard time putting the book down. I have read the previous book in the series but you could probably follow the story without reading book (which was also great). In this story a newly wed couple goes through the loss of a child. It follows along with their different paths of grieving. It still has a happily ever after with a twist in the end. It left tears in my eyes and I am recommending it to my family and friends.

Utterly Enchanting. I couldn't find a single thing I disliked as I read this book. It picks up smoothly from the first installment of the series, and I must say, I enjoyed it as much, if not more than the first. With steamy romance and such a trying emotional journey, I really couldn't put it down. If you're reading this review wondering whether you should read this book, this is your sign. Do it.

Captive. Very good book. Emotional and realistic. So glad I read it. Waiting now for the next one in this series.

Good Read but.... I really like the storyline! I read the first book in one sitting. Can't seem to stop or put it down. BUT there are so many grammatical errors (which is major pet peeve of mine) and it sometimes contradicts itself. Like she's 22 in this book, but wasn't she just 22? One year prior, she would've been 24 right? Or, he never went close to 2 months without getting laid before but didn't he say he wasn't with anyone in the 3 months leading up to them getting together? Nonetheless, it's a good read.

Amazing story. Such a good series! Can't wait for the next book about Luke!

Captive. Just as good as the first book. Very emotional story. I found that there were times I was laughing and times that I had tears. Beautiful story of struggle, life and love.

Omg I love it. Wow, I was in love the bound but having read the second book, I'm totally in love with Kate and Ryder, it was so emotional and so brilliantly written, I absolutely love it, will be one I read over and over again x

Loved this book. Another fantastic read Bound was amazing and is follow up captive was gripping, going through all emotions as a reader I was laughing, crying and on the edge at times in this book. Wow i loved it definitely recommend it. Can't wait til the next one.

An emotional read. I knew after reading the first book in the series Bound, that this book was going to get to me. I know that Bound was an extremely emotional read,which had me sobbing on several occassions but Captive got to me on an even deeper level. This is the continuation of Ryke and Kate's story. When tragedy strikes them again, will they be able to face it together, or will their love fail the ultimate test and break them apart? Fear, frustration, grief and the loss of communication all try and rip Ryke and Kate apart. This story was such a roller coaster of a ride, Captive had me ugly crying on several occasions. And yet at other times I was smiling and laughing. Captive is another beautifully well written book by Ms. Rothert who captured the very essence of Ryke and Kate's love, fear and helplessness and their struggles to overcome makes for an extremely compelling read. The chemistry was so hot I thought I was going to burn up, and yet the love and romance shown to one another was beautiful to read. Their struggles to overcome was palpable and at times heartbreaking. However, in the end Ms. Rothert brought their story to a satisfying and beautiful conclusion and never have I cheered so much. If anyone deserves a happily ever after it was Ryke and Kate.

Could not put this book down. I will say it again ,I don't know why I haven't read this series before now. After reading Bound I had to jump straight in to Captive, I needed to know how life would pan out for Kate & Ryke and omg what did you do to me Brenda Rothert my heart was breaking for this couple. This is a true love story that deals with emotions and heartbreak , it's not life through Rose coloured spectacles, it's real life. From the moment I read the first line, I got a lump in my throat and there was no putting this book down. You do need to read Bound before you read Caltive because it's a continuation of Kate & Ryke's life, their love for each other and their heartbreak but it's not all sadness this author has a way of bringing in moments from the first book that are a complete contrast to what is happening in this book but it works perfectly. This is a beautifully written story with a HEA and now I need to go one click the rest of The Fire on Ice Series. I would recommend Bound and Captive to all of my friends if the rest 0f this series is as good as the first two books they are a must read !!!

OMG!. Honestly, from start to finish! I couldn't put the books down - stayed awake for 28 hours straight with work in between just because I couldn't stop. I cannot wait for number 3. The fire on ice series is by far my most favourite! You are amazing & did a wonderful job!

Even better than the first!. I loved both books and can't wait for the third in the series. Looking forward to finding out Luke's story and hopefully enjoy an update about Kate, Ryke and their family.

WOW!. When I read the first book, I had no idea there was a second!! So happy I went and check for other books from this author! Super happy about how this book ended! Loved it so much! Definitely a tear jerker, but happy tears! Beautiful story!
