Wow...just wow.. This book is thrilling and even though I’ve had it for a couple years I’ve read it about 4 times. It’s just one I always come back to. It’s amazing and so amazingly written that you can’t put the series down. I have the limited edition so the whole series is split in two books and then the last I need more on this series ASAP!!!! This book will always have a place in my ❤️

So Annoying. Katy is so annoying. She cusses, but can’t catch on to Daemon liking her? She’s immature but also smart? It’s not enjoyable at all because of how stupid the main female character is. I’m really getting tired of these books with docile females that act so clueless. The whole “whoa it’s me” act she has, even until the end, is just miserable and pitiful. She is constantly pushing him away and then playing the victim. Smh sick of it.

excellent. interesting book, I immediately read through, bought the next 3 in the series and am awaiting the, hopefully the last, book coming out on the Aug 5th. can’t figure out how the author will bring it all to the end. Very good read.

Pleasently surprised. I did not expect much yet read this book in a day. Katy is delightful. And the dialogue is hilarious. I was intrigued at every turn. Worth the buy.

Not my favorite.. I read this books because everyone was raving about Daemon, but I just.. I just don’t like the whole theme. I can’t deal with this on and off thing between them. I don’t see a solution and, honestly, after reading the Blood and Ash series this one feels like a step down…

Amazing. I read this book years ago and It is still my favorite re-reads it is that book. I have not much to say other than it’s great it was so nerve-racking and I kept me on the edge of my seat for sure I recommend to anyone.

LOVED. This is definitely my new favorite series! I loved everything about this book and read it within 24 hours. I also loved the 4 books that come after this one. Definitely recommend! I have read the whole series twice so far.

AMAZINGAMAZING😄. This entire series is off the top I recommend you read all the books. I personally like Daemon best because of of his personality. If you are someone who enjoys romance, aliens, and humor this series is for you!

Wow. I did not expect to enjoy this book so much. Its such a good story and i like her writing (its like i am reading a fanfiction story from wattpad tbh, in a good way). Her writing isnt that great or amazing. Its just okay. I would recommend this to people who love aliens, actions, romance, and can tolerate jerks! I am looking forward to read the 2nd book soon :)

An Enjoyable 4/5. This story starts out with Katy. She’s a teenager, a book blogger, and has just moved to a small secluded town. There, she comes across her neighbors, Dee and her twin brother Daemon. Dee and Katy become fast friends, but Daemon has some animosity towards Katy that she doesn’t quite understand. She hasn’t done anything to deserve his immediate contempt, but he’s still rude to her every time they talk. However, Katy doesn’t know everything about the next door twins, and the secret she uncovers about them might lead to immense danger, and also a possible romance with her new best friend’s jerk of a brother, Daemon (oooooh ahhhhhh). So. If you're fond of YA literature, you must've read Twilight. Or at least seen the movies (though how can you compare the books and the movies, COME ON !?) If you have, this book is going to be a trip down memory lane for sure. The amount of Twilight nostalgia I felt while reading this book was unpredictable. Of course I'd heard about the similarities between this book series and Twilight before reading it, but the amount of connections that exist are wild. That being said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with these similarities. In fact, I enjoyed this book a ton because of them. Obsidian was fast paced and gripping, and each chapter ended in a way where I wanted to keep on reading. And there was a sarcastic protagonist, something Twilight lacks with Bella, and a complex (AND HOT) love interest, who maintains Edward’s charm without blowing everything out of proportion. Unlike Twilight’s main couple who are dependent on each other instantly, the possible relationship here is a lot more natural feeling, which I appreciated a lot. Just, if you're going to read this, don't be surprised that the events and characters follow a similar structure as Twilight does, though they are also very different in terms of the world and specific events that transpire - and it's actually a good thing. Jennifer L. Armentrout has created an amazing world with great characters. Yes some may say that the similarities to Twilight make this book lesser, I’d counter that it makes the book even more enjoyable to read. Especially in a period after you’ve just read another book series and need a filler before your next endeavor. It’s perfect for that. Now, I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just leave it by saying that I loved this book for the same reason I loved Twilight: it transports you to a different world. And I read for the escapism, so I loved the reading experience immensely. Overall, I'd give it a 4/5. Is it the best thing I've read ever? No. But was it entertaining as hell? Yes. And I loved the direction went in at the end. Maybe I'll invest in the rest of the series, I'm not sure yet. But I say go ahead and buy the first book, you won't be disappointed. Happy Reading.

Obsidian. I love this book I’ve never liked reading before and when I found this book I fell in love with it honestly I just want to sit around and read it over and over again

I Can’t Believe I Never Saw This Sooner. This book SUCKED me in. It wasn’t your normal “vampire next door” ridiculous teen romance novel. The character development in this is phenomenal. You see how the characters change and morph each other into almost completely different people. It shows how someone can alter the course of your future and bring out sides of you that you didn’t know existed. Someone hard and withdrawn isn’t always who you think they are. Someone who has experienced trauma or death isn’t the same as others and its a touching example of how you can connect with someone who has experienced sadness or loss like you have. The supernatural aspect of it is alluring, yes, but its Daemon and Katy that make the book what it is. Katy’s character is so much more different than “normal” teen supernatural novels. She’s snarky, honest, kind and even vulgar at times. She has a voice. She isn’t a damsel in distress. Shes strong minded and willful and i admire the author for allowing her to blossom as the main character should. Daemon is troubled and lost and so overcome with the stress of being the protector that he cannot be himself. *spoiler* When he let Katy in about Dawson and shared with her things that he probably hadn’t talked about with anyone, at least for a while, we as readers can all relate to that. He needed someone to talk to. We can’t all be strong all the time. Sometimes its easier to talk with someone who is more of a stranger than someone we are really close to. In closing, the author did a wonderful job with this book. Im going to buy the second one immediately. Ive played both on Chapters but when I found there were more books in the series I needed to read them all. Off to Onyx!

Obsidian. Ok so I don't usually write reviews for books but I must say this book was extremely good. I absolutely loved the plot. Very original and unique. This is honestly is the first book I have ever read about with aliens and I highly recommend it. The characters were funny and lovable and the relationship between daemon and Katy was very believable. I liked how they acted like two teenagers would act if they secretly liked each. All in all very god read!

In love. I found this book on the app “choices” I fell in love with it once I started reading it! I couldn’t put my phone down until I was finished with it. I can't wait to found out how it all ends

All-Time favorite book<3. I promise once you read the first two chapters you won’t want to stop. This book is amazing and 10/10 recommended.

I love this book!!!. This book made me so happy!! I was laughing almost the whole time and it was so good I read it all in one day and oh my god this is fantastic!! It has the perfect amount of humor and romance and I love it so much!! If you were to look at me I would look like a kid during Christmas! I am definitely reading the other books and buying them so they look amazing on my bookshelves!!!!!

Obsidian series. I have re-read this and re-read this series. One of my all time favorites for those that like those books you can’t put down, the mush ones that make you so excited you can’t wait to read the rest, this is the book for you. A must read!! It’s so good!

GET IT!. Oh my gosh I couldn’t put the book down and finished it within two days. I love how strong Kat is and how Daemon can’t stay away! It’s the best book I’ve read in a long time. I brought the second book the moment I finished the first and I’m sure I will reread this series over and over again.

It was ok. Teen Novel , not as steaming as Jennifer’s other books are , back and forth quips and comebacks between the main couple, some teenage bullying and tug of war dialogue gets old quick but somewhat to be expected for angsty teenage love background -

Ya paranormal masterpiece. The beautiful world Armentrout creates in the Lux series is captivating and Obsidian is where it all begins for Daemon and Katy. Enjoy the journey.

Fun, fast read. This was an enjoyable beginning to the series. I found the characters easy to like. The premise was unique & interesting with some events a little difficult to imagine at times. Reading the pet name “kitten” for the heroine got tiresome but all in all I will read book #2.

Obsidian- 100% Enthralling. Oh My! I had no idea this Book (1) would be the start of an Epic Journey. This is so engaging and absolutely un- put-downable. Not a word but just get this saga started you’ll LUV IT! I am a 70 year old Uncle who reads books with my Amazing 16 year old niece and we take turns making the choice for our next Read. AMAZING. Out of all the books I have read, and I have read a lot, this is my favorite!! Full of romance and humor. It keeps you on your toes and you never want to stop reading. If I could give more then 5 stars I would do 100, because that's how good it is!!!! You will immediately ship Katy and Daemon

Less than 1 star actually. Absolutely disgusting, I wish white authors would stop basing their lore around indigenous culture. Also it is literally just twilight but with aliens and less personality. The “feminist” writing felt AI generated. Like an alien who came down to earth and learned about feminism from watching how dogs acted in a dog park. 10/10

Really good. This book was really good- like I was looking for something with romance but not dumb cheesy cute but actual stuff... side point: this book is literally twilight but with aliens... but I’m not complaining I mean I love twilight hehe

Obsessed!. In High school I read this book and had no idea there was a whole series!!!! As a full grown adult I made the responsible decision to buy all of them!!! 😍🖤 Obsession is an understatement!

Obsidian. I really enjoyed this book! At first, I wasn't pulled into the story right away. I thought Katy and Daemon's relationship was super annoying. But somewhere in the middle of the book, when all the action started, I was pulled in and couldn't stop reading. The characters grew on me, and now I'm really itching to buy the next book in series, stay up, and read it!

Reminds me of Roswell. This book was really good! Now i know what all the hype is about. Very original. It reminds me of the show Roswell, which i LOVED, so naturally i devoured this book. Can't wait to read more. :)

I want more. I read the prequel first so I knew most of the characters at least a little already. I loved getting know them more and meeting the new ones. I loved how the ending wasn’t really an ending. I’m looking forward to the next installment.
