A gem!. What a gem of a book! As a retired teacher, now a librarian, I find this book contains a wealth in information about Switzerland presented in such a fun way. From a child's perspective it is full of clear understandable pictures. The interactive photo galleries and short videos are a perfect compliment to the easy to read text. My granddaughter loved the activities at the end of the book. This would be a great source for any age planning a trip to Switzerland. A real find!

Janet Dieman has pulled it off again with Grammy Takes Foster to Switzerland. It's not really a book, you see. It's a packaged experience. Seven year old Foster, wise beyond his years, is your tour guide and he will resonate not only with his youthful counterparts but also with the fun-loving youngsters still hidden inside most of us crusty adults. Let them out for a dazzling trip through the Swiss Alps. And don't be surprised if you develop a sudden urge to yodel. Your attention will no doubt be divided between the actual content and the wonderful ways it's presented. A real extra that should send you scurrying for Janet's other offerings. Have a great trip!

As an adult I enjoyed the beautiful pictures and looked forward to seeing some of the same things on my Switzerland trip. I was planning my own trip to Switzerland in September and wanted to share with my grandchildren the things I would see while traveling. I often read children’s books to obtain a general overview of subjects without going into great detail. I enjoyed traveling along with Foster and having new experiences on each page. The additional pages to click on to discover the videos and still photos of the cows, cheese making and transportation were fun to see and hear. I learned much from the book which I applied during my tour of Switzerland and highly recommend it for older elementary children to adults.
