Not worth the time…. This book was lengthy and confusing. The way the author does not define who is speaking makes the lines very blurred and messes up the story. It's also very discouraging when the book has massive speeches every time a character talks. The characters themselves were very 2D and lacked depth. They may have had troubled back stories but the execution was subpar and that's being generous. This book made me extremely stressed with the unthoughtful composition, length, confusing execution, and overall bad story line.

Good if you're a teenager. Not deep enough for me. I didn't like the characters each taking a whole chapter. Flipped through probably half the book.

Breaking Kate. I liked the overall plot of this book but was dismayed by the explicit love scenes and the type of language used during those scenes. I cannot give more than two stars because of that.

Breaking Kate. This was the most colossal waste of my time as a reader. I absolutely despise the fact that in order to find out what happened to the characters I have to read 3 more books. It's not worth it. I will be reading other books that don't trick the reader into reading what amounts to a shameless ploy to read & purchase 4 books. Save yourselves the time & move the hell on. I can't believe I wasted hours reading this book only to be disappointed. To say this blows is putting it mildly. #thissucks #wasteoftime #shamelessploytosellmorebooks

Engaging Debut Novel. Dee Kelly's debut novel, Breaking Kate, is engaging! The book is well plotted with an unexpected twist. Her characters are likable and relatable.

Breaking Kate. I didn't mind this book. In the beginning I thought the relationship between Kate and Daniel moved too fast but I started thinking of my past relationships and realized I kind of made some similar choices. My main reason for three stars is that the description of the book did not tell me that it would be a series. For that reason alone, I'm not going to purchase the other books. The ending was very contradictory over Kate's promises to Daniel throughout the entire book. The situation took a turn in which I believe if she was true to her word, she would have just tweaked things, not bow out. I would have given the other novels a chance had I known it would be a series before I got this book.

Breaking Kate. This was a slow read for me. The book took ages to build up with too much history and too little action. Disappointing

Don't waste your time on this book. I don't usually write reviews, but I really needed to for this book. This book is really bad. Haha, I don't say this often for books. But this book is horrible. Just read the first page and you'll understand what I mean.

Amazing Debut. For the longest time I was hesitant to start reading this series. Mainly because Dee was someone I hadn't heard of and I had recently had some bad luck with getting into new things. Also, I had figured that it was some unrealistic mushy gushy romance (which isn't my thing). I was really intrigued during a takeover/giveaway that was being hosted. There were teasers and I had read the comments of others who had already started the series. That night I won a copy of Breaking Kate and just recently received it so that I could dive in. BEST THING I EVER DID! From the very beginning I was hooked! I couldn't put this down and then instantly went and purchased the following 2 in this series. This was a true emotional roller coaster and you would not regret starting this series. I am afraid to give anything away if I go into detail about the story so I'll just say this. This is a well thought out, beautifully written story. You view what's going on from multiple POVs and it flows nicely. Sometimes going from one POV to another has been overwhelming for me, but with this story that was not the case. I couldn't help but fall in love with the characters, to get drawn into their world and feel as if I was with them every step of the way. Oh and for the record I'm #TeamDaniel

Engaging. I was so engaged by this novel. It is definitely a page turner. I just downloaded book 3! Can't wait to finish the series. Hopefully, she starts a new series soon.

Yea, team Daniel for sure...for now.. With the limited info I have at the end of this first book, I'm all team Daniel. Now, the next few books could change my decision given D Kelly's skillful writing and the way she has painted the long-term intense love of Michael and Katherine. But the way he treated her may trump everything. Let's see where this goes. On to book 1.5 from Michael's perspective, Book 2 where it looks like Kate messed up, and finally book 3 where we find out who's giving her a HEA.

Did not finish. I read a lot...several books a week and I very rarely choose not to finish one. I gave this book 3 stars because it may end well but I'll never know. The dialogue between the characters totally turned me off. Entire pages of one person talking at times with very little description as to what the other person is thinking and doing. Normally when people talk to someone, the other person makes comments during. For me, a story usually unfolds in my mind based off descriptions and delving into how the character is feeling. None of that was found here. Just each person talking at others.

Terribly written. I couldn't even finish this book because the prose was so terrible. Although the plot seemed to be interesting from the blurb, I couldn't am face reading any more than 25% of it. The eleven-year-old children I teach write better than this.

Awful!. If this book wasn't free I would seriously consider asking for my money back! I skipped through half of it! Even more infuriating is the to be continued at the end! What a boring boring book if you like mushy over emotional mind numbing crap then this book is for you!

Good plot but flawed writing. I loved the idea of the plot but the writing style wasn't great. The characters lacked depth and there was no sense of reality. The idea of the plot was interesting and that was the only reason I kept reading. I hated the cliffhanger at the end, it sort of made the entire book pointless.

Helps with the January blues!. A perfect book to escape in - full of romance, love triangles and happy endings, although I recommend being prepared to want to read the whole trilogy!

Hmmm..... Ok will say the story line was good... But seriously, would you tell a guy you just met what you want to do with him in bed later??? Nope... Story was too far stretched for my liking.. He said this she thought that... Could of been sooo much better, started off well but nope... Sorry to long of a story and then cliff hanger???? 3 stars for story gx ❤️

Cliche. Seriously!!! So cliche. I could almost say the next line out loud before even reading it.

Breaking Kate by D. Kelly. I really enjoyed Breaking Kate. It was a very interesting storyline and the author drew me into the characters right away. It had the twists and turns in the plot that were excellent. Can’t wait to read book 2.

Love it!. I’m not an avid reader; however, I really enjoyed reading this book! I was looking for something to take my time off the pandemic right now and this book did just that. I feel in love with the characters and just couldn’t put it down. I read the whole series after reading this book!

Good storyline, but.... I liked the concept of the story and the twists are very interesting. It read more like a script for a small play or more accurately a soap opera instead of a novel. With such a strong storyline there was way too much filler and I found myself wanting to skip lines so I couldn't really connect with the characters. Also character development and better writing for the male characters are needed. They are either jerks, stalkers, smothering or just slimy. As much as I would like to know what happens next, I probably won't order Book 2.
