Sorgu by Henri Alleg Book Summary
Fransa, sömürgesi Cezayir'de başlayan ulusal kurtuluş savaşını bastırmak için her yola başvurdu. Emperyalist işgalciliğin bağnazlığı, işkencesi ve ırkçı vahşeti bu kez Fransız devletinin imzasını taşıyordu. İşkence tezgahına götürülen binlerce Cezayirlinin arasındaki sayısı az Fransızlardan biri olan gazeteci Henri Alleg, işkencede pek çok direnişçinin söylediği "bilmiyorum" sözcüğünü, daha bükülmezce kullandı... "Size söylemeyeceğim!..." Alleg'in "Sorgu"su, bu süreci anlatıyor. Ancak, bunun yalnızca işkenceyi teşhir etmekle sınırlı bir kitap olduğunu düşünmemeliyiz. "Demokrasinin" doğum yeri sayılan bir "uygar ülke"nin, bir başka halka karşı sömürgeci vahşetini bütün çıplaklığıyla anlatan gerçek bir eserdir. Bir dönüm noktasıdır "Sorgu". Fransız aydınları derin bir suskunluk içinde iken yayınlanan "Sorgu" "Özgür Fransa"nın bağımsız mahkemelerince yasaklandı. Ancak ardından, Fransa'da on binlerce satıldı, birçok dile çevrildi. İşkencenin sistematik bir şekilde uygulandığı Türkiye'de "Sorgu"yu yeniden basmak, güncel bir ihtiyacı karşılamaktır gerçekte.
