GREAT STORY!!. A great, fun read!! Hudson is a billionaire that oozes charm but when he meets a woman who isn't interested in his charm, he sets out to convince her otherwise. Felicia is a woman focused on researching her honeypot ants, getting her research in a highly respected science magazine and getting the man she's been in love with since she was 15. She also has a personal deadline to achieve all this before her 30th birthday, which is right around the corner. These two are total opposites and the dialog between them was exciting & fun with quite a few steamy scenes the will make you swoon! The swooning was my favorite part!!

Charmingly awesome. I absolutely loved the second book in Avery Flynn’s Harbor City series. Hudson is the brother of Sawyer from the first book in the series, he is hiding who he is from his family, plus helps his mother trying to get Sawyer back with his best friend Tyler. Felicia is an Ant specialist and believes she is in love with Tyler who she has known for years. So Hudson agrees to teach her how to have Tyler notice her, Hudson has a ulterior motive and that is he wants to paint her and get her out of his system, but can he. This was a great rom com and and another hit by Avery Flynn she did not disappoint.

4.5 Stars for this modern twist to My Fair Lady!. I was totally captivated by this sweet and sexy modern twist to My Fair Lady! This second book in the Harbor City series did not disappoint. It was funny, clever and very hot and steamy! We met mysterious, sexy, playboy, Hudson Carlyle in the first book and now he is back, allowing us to see he is all that, but also so much more. When he first meets nerdy ant researcher, Felicia Hartigan, he sees so much more in her than her glasses and frumpy clothes. When his mother sees her as well, she hatches a plan and enlists Hudson's help to carry it out. Hudson finds that she has a long time crush on his brother's friend, Tyler. So Hudson decides to help her catch his eye. But the more time they spend together, the more the lines become blurred. I loved how stubborn Felicity was and how she would never back down from a challenge. Hudson knew how to bring out her soft, sexy side, which helped to crack thru his walls as well. They were so perfect together and their chemistry was explosive. I loved the texts they sent each other, building a fun foundation for their relationship. Hudson's Mom was a great character as well, being able to manipulate her sons stealthily and with ease. This is the perfect blend of humor, charm, emotion and steam. It captured my heart and had me totally engaged from start to finish. I definitely recommend this must read romance!

The Charmer by Avery Flynn. Loved this romcom between Hudson & Felicia! They meet at a fundraiser at the community’s Natural History Museum where she is a myrmecologist, specializing in a particular ant species! 😱🐜. Hudson is a charming, wealthy businessman with a reputation as a player who notices Felicia, is intrigued, totally fascinated & devises a scheme to get to know her! What happens is for Ms Flynn’s readers to discover! It’s hot, sexy, laugh-out-loud hilarious as well as frustrating as the couple at times fight their attraction❣️😍👍👏. 3.5 Stars. For such an intelligent woman, Felicity is kind of a dope! Who has sex with a guy to get “lessons” in how to catch another guy...supposedly her life long crush!? This is the problem I had with this story. I was excited that the nerdy character was our heroine...my favorite nerdy stories have been exclusively the hot and nerdy hero. And while most nerdy characters, male and female, are clueless in some way, I just couldn’t warm up to Felicity. And while this may be a double standard...because Hudson is teaching these “lessons”, I liked him!! But he also was not professing love for one but getting busy with another. I expected him to do everything he could to get Felicity in the sack, to prove that she didn’t really want the other guy, Tyler...and Hudson didn’t disappoint. His secret really didn’t need to be kept for quite so long. And this playboy facade, that no one seems to see through, wears thin (in most books that use this plot twist, not just this book). Together, though, I did enjoy them. I liked their snarky repartee, I like how they do actually bring out the best in each other, and don’t let the other get away with hiding themselves. And of the two books so far in the Harbor City series, this one is my favorite and most memorable, warts and all. So while a 3.5 may seem like a low rating, it’s not. Because even with the flaws, for me, it was still a great book. I received an ARC from Netgalley and the publisher for an honest review

Review: Harbor City 2: The Charmer. The Charmer by Avery Flynn is the second book in her Harbor City series. A flirty, fun, sexy, romantic story told in dual POV between Hudson Carlyle and Felicia Hartigan. Can be read as a standalone but better read in series order. Each book continues with another couples story along a progressing timeline. Hudson is the younger brother of Sawyer Carlyle from the first book, The Negotiator, and an all-around charmer (hence the title of this book). At a fundraising event he fixates on a nerdy, tiny ant researcher, Felicia, and ends up agreeing to help her begin dating his brothers best friend, Tyler. What he doesn't plan on is the crazy chemistry they have together. Felicia has a plan - a list - things to accomplish before she is thirty (in a month) and the last thing unchecked on this list is dating Tyler. The problem is, he doesn't see her as anything other than a little sister. When Hudson charms his way into her life with a plan for her to nab Tyler and a small request for her to help him she is hard pressed to say no. Any attraction she feels to Hudson, while he is helping her with her Tyler issue is just transference, right? sizzlingly sexy, laugh out loud funny, with just enough emotion and angst to keep it very interesting I thoroughly enjoyed this read! Up next, The Schemer!

The author delivered an entertaining, funny, and hot read! Felicia is nerdy and brilliant. She loves planning and being organized. Hudson appears to be the rich pampered boy. There is more to Hudson than he lets everyone see. Hudson and Felicia are opposites but they are perfect for one another but will they take a chance on love? I really loved the characters. Hudson is such a "charmer". I enjoyed Hudson and Felicia's story. This was a fantastic book. This is book number two in the Harbor City series. This book can be read as a standalone. But if you haven't read book number one, The Negotiator, you will want to. It was really great too. FYI, contains mature and graphic content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This book had me giggling and laughing out loud. The Charmer is book 2 in the Harbour City series but it's actually a companion novel to The Negotiator rather than a second book in the series and it can be read as a standalone. Hudson Carlyle is the baby brother of Sawyer ( The Negotiator), he is hot and he knows it and the last thing on his mind is a relationship but will that change when he meets the nerdy researcher Felicia Hartigan. Felicia turns his world upside down, who would thought a girl that studies ants and dresses in loose fitting tees could steal a piece of Hudson's heart. This book has it all,if you are looking for a book that will make you smile like a Cheshire Cat than do yourself a favour and one click The Charmer. It's written from the heart and it's full of humour, passion, love and plenty of banter that will have you giggling and laughing out loud, it's a book that I will read again because let's be honest we all need a book that makes us smile to escape into.
