Favorite book. This is my new favorite book! I absolutely love it :) couldn't put it down

Love, love, love!. This book is wonderful! I had a very hard time convincing myself to put it down so I could sleep or work! I love the characters dearly! Little Pip was by far my favourite!

Generous three stars. *SPOILERS AHEAD* I liked the book. But...historical inaccuracies plague the story throughout. Also, the story could have been told in half the words. It seemed to drag on forever in parts. I got the feeling that the author was more worried about being a painter of words than an effective story teller. Any decent publisher would ask the author to eliminate 50,000 words, minimum. Additionally, there were too many plot twists and too much drama that led to a conclusion in which the main characters where strangely at peace with. After murder attempts, dealing with the mentally ill, a show down with an evil doppelganger, facing the judgement of townspeople, lies and secrets, and a fire, I guess I expected more than "oh well, let's rebuild." The story is well written. I am just not sure a good chunk of it should have been written. The author clearly has talent. I would read further works. I am just hoping they will be more deliberate.

The characters and their interactions were wonderfully portrayed and developed. The romance was well built and I loved the suspense. The plot was so very engaging. One of my favorite novels.. I downloaded this book to my nook nearly 10 years ago. And I swear this is probably my 20th time reading it. I absolutely love this book it’s one of my favorites.

Wonderful!. A beautifully written story that ranks as high as a Julie Garwood or Catherine Coulter classic historical. Uplifting, and dramatic with wit and sarcasm and suspense it is truly a great book.

Very refreshing ..... I bought this book based on some reviews I had read; it does not disappoint! I loved the story, the characters, the setting..there was a lot going on in those pages!. ( I read iBook edition.) this is my first Kean read and I find her writing to be very refreshing and good. Look forward to her next books.

If Discovering You was made into a movie it would be my favorite for years. The love story here is truly a work of art. The idea of love behind a mask is awesome. Discovering you. I really like this book, because the main couple share the kind of love that no one have any more, a love that is strong and passioned, there is no sex involved and my teen daughter can read it too and like it as well I did!!!

Lovely story, a bit long. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters were real n had good depth to them. There were only two things that I didn't like about it. 1. It was over 800 pages on my iPad and seemed to lag in a couple of places. 2. The "villains" seemed too over the top for how grounded the other characters were. Made it a little less believable to me. Other than that, I thought this was a great book and truly lovely!!

A New Twist on a Classic Love Story. This book is different from typical romance novels. When I first downloaded it, I saw that the novel was set in a different time period, not to mention it was something like 700 pages. This made me almost delete it, but out of curiosity, I started to read. Needless to say, I read this book in 2 days. I like to read romance novels where the girl doesn't immediately fall for the guy. I also like when the story is unpredictable and the romance is clean. This book had everything. Some parts of the book you think you have figured out, but there were a few cases where I thought, "Wow, didn't see that coming." The romance between the two characters was very strong, yet clean and enjoyable. I could recommend this book to young teens and not feel guilty. In fact, I recommend it to anyone looking for a classic love story with a twist. This book will have you guessing until the end. And don't be intimidated by the 700 pages. By the end of the book, you won't believe it's over!

A good read. I can't believe this was a free book. It started out predictable but there was actually some action along with the romance.

Discovering You. Liked the story, but a couple of historical inaccuracies. First antibiotics of any kind didn't come about until the late 1800s. The term wasn't coined until 1880s or so. Also, I don't think a rifle that wouldn't need to be reloaded between shots came about until later than this story.

Wonderful read. I really enjoyed getting lost in the love story between these two characters. The story had a wonderful flow that made it simply impossible to put down. The plot twists kept me interested in discovering what would happen next. Lucy and Nicholas are two spirits destine to be together. Please continue with Ben's story......

Nice surprise. I was pleasantly surprised by this book! It started out a little slow and I almost lost interest but upon further reading I became hooked with the characters. I couldn't put it down and was sad when it came to the end. Highly recommend, especially since it was a free download on iBooks!

Discovering you. This book is based on bits and pieces of the classics like Rebecca and Mansfield Park, Jane Eyre. I got bored with reading it Nd just flipped fast forward to read bits. A mad wife and the manor house being burnt.

Discovering You. Pure Hollywood, truly awful. Full of inaccuracies with regards to the time period. Use of language has an American slant and the characters act and speak like no other of that time. Written I think with film rights in mind. Thank god it was free. Do not waste your time reading this. I gave up in the end as it was so unbelievable.

Disappointed. Because of the vast accolades from others, I was really looking forward to reading this book as I enjoy historical novels however I am deeply disappointed with the total lack of even the semblance of historical accuracy in this one. Miss Kean has transposed modern day language, manners and etiquette back a couple of centuries but has made no attempt for accuracy. I can only suppose she wanted to get rid of cars and phones for the story, but nothing else fits the age she is writing about. If she had read Jane Austin, Fanny Burney or even Georgette Heyer she would understand the inaccuracies of her writing. Sorry - this made the book very amateurish and therefore gratingly awful for me

Gripping. I am not normally a fan of period drama fiction... However this caught my attention early on... I thought the characters where well written and enjoyed the forthrightness of Lucy and the depths of Nicholas.... Well done, a good read....

Period Romance. I don't normally read period romances but I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Well worth the read, I loved the characters, the settings and there was plenty going on throughout the book. I look forward to reading something else from this author.

Beautiful. Although there are some discrepancies within the book as to the historical period, I still think it is an absolutely brilliantly written book! Firstly, the characters are loveable and the plot is not common. It is not a typical love story, it has depth and complexity. What struck me most about this book was the love between Nicholas and Lucy, it was truly beautiful, and for a free book? Remarkably well written. In my opinion, it should not be free! I would happily buy such a book.

Meh....not bad. As said below this "historical novel" is not very sympathetic to the time in which it is set in. Apart from travelling by horse and cart it could easily be set in modern times. The story is a little up and down and, I felt, kept going back on itself. That said, it was an easy read with characters that were even easier to like and I didn't bin it off half way through. So....meh....not bad.

Discovering you. This isn't the style of book that I would usually read BUT I could not put it down. I took the iPad with me to work, for a coffee, out for a smoke even into the bedroom just so I could continue the story, I couldn't get enough of it.

Good Story, Terrible Historical. The only gripe I had with the book is it was completely inaccurate for its historical setting. Young women didn't stay at strange, unmarried men's houses unchaperoned. Heck ladies didn't even visit men unchaperoned, this was Victorian England! However, It's a romance so I would expect a little fantasy but this was stupidly unrealistic. So, while this was great for a freebie with a little more research and period accuracy this would be a far better book.

Just loved!. Honestly I had to wake up in the middle of the night just to finish the book, reading the last pages at 4:00am! I couldn't wait the sunrise :) I just loved the finest writing details and sometimes it toke my breath away. I really enjoy every single page. A love history fulfil with passion and mystery.

Loved it. Absolutely loved this story. The characters were engaging and Nicholas was absulotely mesmerising and mysterious. I loved how Sylvia was described. It gave me the chills. Absolutely lovely book and was well written.

becoming Jane, by Jane Austen storyline. I would have enjoyed this book, if I didn't read and watched becoming Jane, by Jane Austen. The story line is the extract same. The details background of the characters are the same just slightly different. Am very disappointed, would of been nice if the author was creative enough to develop her own story.

Don't waste your time.. Not only is this book not historically accurate in regards to the language and relationship between men and women in the early 1800's, the story line is immature and juvenile. The character are under developed and quite pathetic actually. A women would not be able to love alone with a man without a chaperone who is either family or a friend, servants would not count. Using "hey you" to address each other is so inaccurate it's disgusting. It's obvious the author put no thought to historical accuracy and good story telling. It's abusive to your brain to read this junk!!
