Ingenious Cat & Mouse Plot. I loved this book. It is the second in the Kronberg series - the first being the Devil's Grin. This book really explores the intellectual differences as well as emotional differences between two incredibly brilliant people - Dr. Anna Kronberg and Professor James Moriarty, the arch-nemesis of Sherlock Holmes. It is fascinating to watch the two of them pitted against each other. Moriarty wants Anna to make germ warfare weapons, while Anna wants to put all of Moriarty's network in jail with the help of Sherlock Holmes. This is the first book where I've really seen Moriarty's personality revealed. What an amazing story. There is so much suspense throughout the entire novel, I was forced to finish it in a single day. I simply could not put it down. My favorite part is the intellectual war between Anna and James that goes on the entire time she is his captive. How differently highly capable men and women think and feel was examined extremely well in this novel and it was a delight to watch it play out over the course of the story. I have got to say that if you are a mystery fan and you have not read these books, then you have missed out on a real pleasure. Highly Recommend !
