I was hopeful this book would end sooner than it did.. This story is boring , too long and needs better editing! This will appeal to the young women who attend college and join a sorority, in hopes of meeting the right guy and get their M.R.S. degree, move to "the big east coast city" , pretending they are something they are not , and end up in a suburb of Maryland playing "bunco". If this movie were to take place twenty years ago, it would star Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaghey. Opening weekend romantic comedy. Two months later, Lifetime television for women. Boring book about sad angry people. The book starts off in DC, but is actually mostly about a housewife living in a friends basement in Texas. It practically turned me off from reading. Skip it!

Insightful. Complex characters. Really captures what it is looking me to move in the political circle of D.C., especially how all-consuming it is. Insightful look into that complicated world and the people closest to it.

Really, really good. Read 800 pages in two days...need I say more?

The plot line is so thin it is almost embarrassing.. Not sure if this is self published but it certainly reads like it. I finished it only because I was on a train with no wi-if. I was certain it had to improve - it didn't.

Should have been called Diary of a boring woman. I forced myself to finish this one

Boring. I enjoyed the beginning but then it went nowhere. Nothing happens and the main character does nothing but complain... Her husband is a jerk and you never hear his side of things to help you sympathize with him. Kept reading assuming something would happen but it never did. Wouldn't recommend!

Not sure what's worse. ...The incredibly boring, 'thin' plot as another review stated or the pathetic, unlikeable characters? Read this months ago and still upset I paid money for such a terrible all-around book. Wish I could get a refund, do not waste your time or money on this.
