Alan Watts was a comparative religion scholar, who spoke and wrote on topics of spirituality with a focus on Eastern systems of philosophy (especially Zen Buddhism and Taoism). Watts is credited as helping to spread Eastern philosophy throughout the West, beginning in the 1930's.
