Gnomon. Amazing. Mind bending. At one level a cautionary tale of invasive and controlling technology but at another a very literary puzzle and mind trip.
Continuity is overrated. For the reviewer who gave it one star and said it lacked continuity, I say he just didn’t try. This book is not simple, and it’s not easily digested on a summery beach, and at times it’s hard to understand what the heck is happening. At the same time it’s fascinating and engrossing and hard to put down, like few things I’ve read recently. Take it on with a willingness to challenge yourself and push through, and you will be rewarded with an intriguing, thought provoking and yes, very entertaining read.
Gnomon. Couldn’t finish it. Lacks continuity. I do NOT recommend it.
