Diese Sammlung von Aphorismen ist besser verständlich, wenn man den Lebenslauf des Autors kennt.
Nach dem Studium der Mathematik und Physik an der Universität Innsbruck unterrichtete er am Akademischen Gymnasium Salzburg, wurde dann als Professor für Mathematik an die Pädagogische Akademie (Pädagogische Hochschule) Salzburg berufen und 1983 zum Landesschulinspektor für höhere Schulen (Gymnasien) im Land Salzburg ernannt, 2001 trat er in den Ruhestand.
Edwin Gräupl wurde 1990 in Salzburg in den Ritterorden vom Heiligen Grab zu Jerusalem investiert. Er wurde im Jahr 2000 von Carlo Kardinal Furno zum Statthalter des Ritterordens vom Heiligen Grab zu Jerusalem in Österreich ernannt und übte diese Funktion acht Jahre lang erfolgreich aus.
In allen diesen Funktionen hatte er mehr Gelegenheit, als erhofft, zum Strohalm der Aphorismen greifen zu müssen! Hier ist von Religion, Kirche, Staat, Philosophie, Mathematik, Physik und von guten und weniger guten Menschen zu lesen. Oft erheiternd, manchmal sehr vom Mainstream abweichend.
