Konturer by Rachel Cusk Book Summary
Faye åker till Aten för att undervisa. Under några infernaliskt varma sommardagar möter hon en rad individer som alla gör henne till åhörare medan de berättar om sina liv. En efter en redogör de för sina äktenskap, familjerelationer, drömmar, misslyckanden och farhågor, och gradvis träder även Fayes utsatthet fram. Konturer är en roman som består av samtal: om skapande och självutplåning, separation och förluster – om att ana existensen i mötet med andras berättelser.
I Rachel Cusks verk blir lyssnandet ett slags berättande, och Konturer växer till en unik studie av hur berättelser styr våra liv. Romanen ingår, med de efterföljande delarna Transit och Kudos, i en trilogi som världen över hälsats som en förnyelse av romankonsten.
