From tragedy to revenge, a tale of a mother's love and butt kicking.. Wow. Just WOW. First book in a brand new series from Shannon Mayer and it keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way through. All Nix wanted was to live her live with her husband and son, but her past just couldn't stay in the past. Nix was raised by her father to hunt and kill abnormals for him. You might guess that dad isn't going to win Father of the Year. Nix got away from all that, fell in love and started a family. Now that has all been stolen from her. Her family is gone and now she's on the hunt for those who took them from her. Watch out world, Nix is coming and she's armed and very very dangerous. This book left me eager for the 2nd book.

Mess with momma bear... pay the price!. I fell in love with Shannon Mayer's books when I stumbled upon her Rylee Adamson series, and she continues to hold me captive with every new release she makes. Fury of a Phoenix is action packed, fast paced and gritty. Bea AKA Nix is a highly skilled and hugely feared assassin who escaped the deadly harsh world of her youth and found love and life in peaceful Wyoming. Her husband and son are the light of her world and when someone takes them away from her they have no idea the beast they have unleashed. There is nothing more frightening than a mother who's child you have killed especially when that mother has the skill set that Nix does. This first book takes us along for the ride as Nix searches for answers and who has taken away the two people who mean the world and how she plans to get revenge on them, once you pick it up you won't want to stop reading even as the last page ends!

Awesome new series!. A killer hidden for more than a decade comes back for one simple thing, revenge. Even though the story is nothing other than revenge, I couldn’t help but think of the movie John Wick. As like many other Mayer books, Fury of a Phoenix is non-stop action. The person you should hate, a killer, you will actually be rooting for. A first for me!

Action Packed. Shannon Mayer is the queen of the end of book hook :) At least she has told readers the series is a trilogy and will be released fairly quickly. Pay attention to the cover. Dark assassin getting revenge and lots of action. A good story that leaves you looking forward to the next book.

Wow!. What a great read!! Loved this book from start to finish. It was so intense, I forgot I was turning pages until there weren’t any left! So many twists and turns, you’ll never see that ending coming! Highly recommended!

A mothers love knows no bounds. Shannon does it again. This is a great story that shows a mothers love and revenge. She was leading a peaceful life where she left her old life but when someone takes her family from her she shows just how not to mess with a Phoenix. For through the ashes the Phoenix shall rise! Go read it! You won't be disappointed.

Love love loved!!!. Ohmagod!! This was such a fantastic book. I love books with a strong FMC, and wow, this book did not disappoint!! The whole storyline is excellent and I cannot wait to see how this all plays out! I definitely recommend reading this book!!

Someone awoke the sleeping Phoenix. Absolutely fantastic!! Great characters and how magic is used in our “non-magical”world. This one gave me all the feels. In the beginning, we are just getting to know Phoenix (aka Nix), both her current life and the one she hoped she had permanently put in her rear view mirror. Once the action starts, you won’t be able to put this book down. I love the mafia storyline with a magical twist. it’s quite unique, In my opinion. Phoenix is forced back in the world she hates due to tragedy caused by one man. She’s been out of the game for so long, she’s not sure who to trust as she encounters old friends and enemies and possible new ones of both. Nix not only wants to take down this man, she wants to make him truly suffer while she does it. This series is addictive!! If you’re on the fence about reading this series, just jump on over it and enjoy your read!

Great author, great series. Imagine finding love, peace, happiness and joy after leaving behind a hideous life. Now imagine your happy world crumbling and being thrust back into the life you left behind. Add magic to the mix. The result is a great page turner with many twists and turns and red herrings aplenty. Another great series from a great author.

Great Book But.... The afterword is missing at the end of the book. I really hope that its not important for the next book. Loved this though. Fast paced, lots of fury and violence and a bit of magic. Excellent
