A Court of Frost and Starlight Book Reviews
A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas Book Summary
A tender addition to the #1 New York Times bestselling Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas, bridging the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin and upcoming books.
Feyre, Rhysand, and their friends are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly altered world beyond, recovering from the war that changed everything. But Winter Solstice is finally approaching, and with it, the joy of a hard-earned reprieve.
Yet even the festive atmosphere can't keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, her concern for those dearest to her deepens. They have more wounds than she anticipated-scars that will have a far-reaching impact on the future of their court.
Bridging the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin with the later books in the series, A Court of Frost and Starlight explores the far-reaching effects of a devastating war and the fierce love between friends.

So goodā¦again. Felt a little rushed but I loved it.
Poor, but very wealthy Feyre.. I love this family but Feyre talking about how sad she was because Rhys was wealthy annoyed me just a little. If you are going to be a material girl. Be a material girlā¦
Good but not great. Good but not great
Hm...k? I guess. I read other reviews and knew what I was getting into with this one...not much. As one reviewer wrote, a Christmas special. I could have done without and had it center around Feyreās BDay instead. XMas isnāt a happy-go-lucky time for everyone. But I read so I didnāt miss anything in the series. Ms. MAAS, thank you for the effort, but letās not put your readers through something like this again.
Good insight. I bought this after reading the reviews. Iām glad I did and I enjoyed reading it. Iām not sure why so many are complaining that this was a waste? There is a disclaimer that states this isnāt a necessary book to read in the series. Itās just a closer, more intimate look into the characters. I started reading the next book first, then I went back and bought this one to read first. Iām glad I did actually because though itās not necessary, it does help to get a better grasp on what continues to happen in the next book. Plus whatās not to love about learning more from the characters youāve grown to love or loath?
lovely. i ALMOST didnāt read this book , ALMOST from the terrible reviews it seemed not worth reading so i havenāt in the months since I bought it but i sat down a said to myself it canāt be that bad you love these characters & the author an i DO NOT REGRET reading it itās a sweet glimpse into their everyday lives with different points of view from all characters an what each is feeling after a brutal war an 50 years of torment for some an a few years for others it showed a different side to each character an it took me into their everyday lives it was short an sweet an i loved it . i didnāt go into it thinking it was gonna be a bunch of drama or huge plot so if your looking to just glimpse into the lives after the war after all the pain an sorrow of Feyre , Rhysand , Cassian , Azriel , Morrigan , Amren , Elain & Nesta this will Be wonderful read . it made the characters seem human an relatable it also made them more real then any of the other books have ! it was a lovely read an i dont regret a moment of time or money i put into this book !
Satisfying. Excellent
Hear me out.. I know a lot of people are kind of disappointed with this, but I loved it. It was just the right thing for me to end the series (for now) as I got a little glimpse of their lives after the war. I will take any small part of story SJM will give because I love the characters and story so much. But SJM also explains a little on why itās a novella and her reasons are perfectly sound. Nestaās story is supposedly next after this, so I am excited!
Short and sweet. I LOVED hearing from all the characters and their point of view! Iām so excited and sad for the last book. Iām not ready to let go of this world.
Unfinished and TBH too fluffy. This book really didnāt stand on its own very well. I have enjoyed the other books in the series, but they were about good vs evil and strong female characters an this one was about...real estate? It just seemed a little too domesticated for these characters. The author agrees in the Q&A in the back that the book is a little more than a novella, but itās not really described as such. Good for a quickie, but be warned itās just a Christmas special with no real story or teeth.
Itās basically an epilogue but the same price as a novel. This series is so good but this book was disappointing
FABULOUS AND BEAUTIFUL. Great writing and fantastic storytelling. I love this series and I am reading the next installment. Do purchase this series and enter a wonderful world and enjoy the experience. Pepper Rose Freeport New York February 12, 2022
10/10. keep them coming
Fun quick read. I honestly loved it! Iāve read reviews where people were disappointed that it was dull or non-eventful but Iāve always felt like I wanted to know what happened at the end of a dramatic ending of a book. And we got it here!
Just okay.. Eh. Felt unnecessary.
So good!. Some people didnāt like this book but I thought it was beautiful! To hear other stories and just to see them as a family without the battles. I loved it!
If you read this, read these books.. This series is one unlike Iāve ever read, and probably will read. The DYNAMICS. The CHARACTERS. The DIALOGUE. The DESCRIPTION. Donāt hesitate to read these books!! I never thought someone could take a character and change them and a readerās feelings for them so thoroughly, and make the reader feel so deeply. What Maas does is magic, pure magic. I havenāt just read these books, Iāve been immersed in a story unlike any other that I havenāt been able to put down. I read a LOT and I donāt think Iāll ever get over the impact these books have left on me. I want to scream to the world about how amazing these books are, but these reviews will have to do.
Love the series⦠hate kernel. These books are amazing. Iāve finished 3 in the last 3 days. But seriously, for the love of god, please tell me she stops using the word ākernelā in her other books. I feel like I canāt make it a single page without seeing this word. āA kernel of power,ā sure. But āa kernel of information,ā āa kernel of shattered glassāā¦??? There are other words. Please use them.
So cute. Not as action packed as the other books, but good for the plot! ā¤ļø
Love. It was like a Christmas special :)
*yawn*. This is 400 pages of Xmas shopping.
Awesome book. Iām seriously enjoying reading this trilogy. Iāve read the thorn of glass and I loved reading that one to the very end of the trilogy.
Too short for the price. I loved the continuation of the saga but this book was too short for the price we had to pay.
Worth reading. But not what I wanted. Am looking forward to the next book though
A change of pace from the first 3 books. I love the characters so it wasnāt a bad read it was just slow and not as action packed as the others of course so just harder to get through.
A quick read. A quick enjoyable day read. Feels rushed by the back and forth style of writing. But a good in between book.
Itās important to understand what this is before you start reading it.. This book gets a lot of hate, but I enjoyed it. I think itās important to go into it with the understanding that itās not like the previous 3 books. It doesnāt further the plot line in any way, but itās just a nice quick glimpse of what their love is like during a time when their lives arenāt on the line. I can understand being disappointed in it if you didnāt know what to expect beforehand, and can see how it would seem āpointlessā since nothing exciting is really happening. But if youāre a person who just wants a little more of the love story without the action & danger, itās a nice expanded happy ending to the previous book.
Just good enough. So I loved the little glimpses into the relationships and the break from all the crazy action but I felt the switch perspectives was too forced.
A sweet story. This is probably my least favorite so far, but it was a very heart warming account. I appreciated the focus on love and family and healing after the whirlwind of ACOWAR. It was pleasant to read, but I prefer the keeps-me-on-the-edge-of-my-seat storytelling of Maasās previous books.
wholesome but i felt like i had to read it. because it was the book before acosf i felt like i would miss out some things if i didnt read it but its really just a happy ending to feyre and rhysand WHICH WAS SO GOOD!!!! if you domt want to read this book i say just look up a summary on cliffnotes and skip to acosf. BUT I REALLY ENJOYED ALL THE WHOLESOME PARTS ASWELL.
What happened?. First three books were phenomenal! I read the reviews but still bought this one because I figured it would add to the conclusion. I was greatly disappointed in this book. Not much happens in this book, not worth the $. I still gave three stars because I love the first 3 books. I donāt recommend buying this one. I hope she goes back and rewrites and sums it up more.
Adorable. Sooooooo cute ugh loved it
Not worth the money!. I loved the other books in this series so I thought this would be the same caliber. It didnāt even seem like the same author wrote it. It was super short (definitely not worth my $14) and the story line was sub par.
Amazing. I love this series, and Sarah J. Maas is an absolute GENIUS. If you enjoy this you must read her other series. āØ
Loved if. Itās a sweet way to say goodbye to some of the storylines, while at the same time opening up some other ones. I love the characters so much, Iāve re-read the series more times than I can count. This novella was so cute, well-written (as usual), and just lovely. I canāt wait for the next installment. My favorite series to date!!!!
Short but ok. Iām not sure this book on holiday tradition is needed .

Amazing. Another great book to the series I still cannot stop reading these novels. Although this is the smallest of the book series, it is packed just as much information and character development that the other ones have. I cannot get enough of these books
Excellent read. Devoured this book
Great filler. Was an easy read and enjoyable with all the favourites
