Character Switch. The writing style is good, but the author gets you invested in two characters but has one leave the other at the end of the book. Disappointing.

That ending though.... There are very few free books I have read that surprised me at the end. This is most definitely one of them. I loved the relationship that unfolded and how it ended. I would have loved to see more from Jimiel though.

a great dark romance with the devil. I don’t even know where to begin because this book was so good! I expected one thing - the Devil takes an innocent female soul in exchange for the life of a loved one and they fall in love - but it is much more than that. Emma Castle’s take on the devil is different than what I’ve read before and in a good way. Lucien Star, aka the Devil, Satan, Lucifer, fell from grace many years ago due to his pride. Charged with guarding hell, he needs to find a pure soul to keep the gates of Hell closed. Diana is desperate. Her father is dying and she would do anything to keep him alive - including making a bargain with the devil. The two characters are interesting. Lucien is arrogant, somewhat selfish, and a bit of an alpha male. Diana is kind-hearted, compassionate and a strong character learning what it is like to give herself to Lucien. The two are so different that they make an unlikely pair. I really enjoyed watching how their relationship evolved and talk about those steamy scenes! I really enjoyed Midnight with the Devil. The ending was phenomenal and I loved the epilogue. The book was entertaining and moved at a good pace. The characters were well developed with both strengths and flaws. I liked the secondary character of Amara and I think I would have liked to seen more of her in the book. This is my first book by Emma Castle and it will not be my last. I received this book as an ARC and I voluntarily leave this review.

Wow. Can you give a book 10 stars? This book was one of the best books I’ve read in a while. All I wanted to do was read this book. The story of Diana making a deal with the devil and then falling in love with him....and then the ending....all I can say is you will love this book and you will cry when you read this book! I can’t wait until the next book Emma Castle!

Yeah, a humanized and caring devil. Not in this world but yes in this novel.. Loved it. I know it’s fake and all. It felt weird how the author tries to make you love the devil. That ain’t good but the whole story was so good I couldn’t stop reading. It was an amazing short story, loved the sexy scenes and the crave of him to spend time with her. Lucien and Diana were good. Even if he’s bad. ❤️

Loved it. I loved this book. It had the romance, steamy scenes, and an ending that makes you shed a tear. I do wish there was another chapter or two on the building relationship between Diana and the devil. Overall loved it and looking forward to reading more from this author.

Different. I was surprised that the story was interesting and good. I grew up religious and I enjoyed it from the historical side. I also loved the characters and the romantic ending. This was different but good.

Sweet not dark.. Diana is in the hospital chapel on the last night of her father's life when the devil offers her a deal. Sell your soul and I will save your father. It's an intriguing storyline. It's got that forbidden fruit aspect that I have to admit is what drew me in. I've never read this author before so I took a gamble to see if this could be something for me. I enjoy a dark read, but not too dark. Having Satan as the Hero, the author could take this to the darkest level she wanted to. I've found that I like Emma Castle's writing and the way she can tell a story. However, I was surprised to find that this book wasn't dark at all. It's actually a very safe read. I did enjoy the way the book turned out and I wasn't expecting that ending. It's actually a very sweet love story. I think that sweetness took the forbidden aspect that drew me in the first place, out of the equation. I wanted this to be just a tad bit darker and for Lucian to have more of a dark intensity to him and how he was with Diana. I think expectation can change how you view a book so if you're expecting dark, this is not it. I would like to come back to this book another time and re-read it. I think going in knowing how sweet it is, I'll enjoy it more the second time around. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Such a Disappointing Ending.. It took me a bit to get into the book. I started by reading the sample and I hadn’t really been drawn into the storyline by the time I had to make the decision to buy it or not. I had nothing else to read, so I decided to buy it. Thankfully it got better, I was enjoying it and the plot started to build. Then all of a sudden the story took an unexpected turn and it completely flatlined. Imagine watching a movie. You’re just starting to get really into it, the plot is building, it feels like the climax is close, then someone walks in, turns the TV off and says, “They live happily ever after! The end!”. That pretty much sums up this book. It was by far the most anti-climactic book I have ever read. So bizarre. There was so much potential.

So good. I finished this book in one day. I absolutely loved it! I didn’t want it to end.
