Historical novel of San Francisco during Goldrush times. This is a novel by a CA writer who now lives in IDaho. The historic aspects seem accurate in regard to architectural locations, events, historic figures. I recognized Muir Woods as a location just from the description of it. I spent lots of time there when I lived in CA. She has several books in this series and I will likely sample them all eventually.

Gold Rush Millionaire. I enjoy reading about the early years of San Francisco, the lives changed for good or bad during the gold rush days. It was a particularly hard life for women, but this story included a woman artist who did quite well.

The Art of Love. One of about two books I have read twice and enjoyed both times. A “must read!”

More than 5 stars. Dont start this at nnite, cause you wont put it down til its finished..her characters are alive and surprising..plus you have double plots worth loving..keep a hankie with you..its all a surprise.,youll love it.

The art of Love. Excellent characters, love the plot. Enjoyed the portrayal of early California landmarks and countryside. Look forward to reading more of this series.

Excellent book. I really enjoyed this well written book. It combined many interesting things from the history of this time and illustrated what life could have been like under the circumstances due to the events and opinions then. It’s a very realistically told story that’s hard to put down.

The Art of Love. Great read

Surprisingly wonderful. Honestly, this is the first time I’ve ever felt compelled to review a book on iBooks. The Art of Love is a beautiful and somewhat bleak/haunting novel that I devoured in 24 hours. The story is harrowing, the characters are complex, and their losses and joys are felt very strongly by the reader. It was a little predictable in terms of the two story arcs leading in to a relationship between the two protagonists - that said, it’s been a long time since I’ve read such an honest and raw love story.
