3 1/2 stars. Interesting exploration of the psychology of the main characters

So different. Loved this book from the beginning . A love story . It’s kinda dark & has self harm. It has a HEA ...Will read Olivia’s story next.

Good read. It dragged a lot but I enjoyed it.

Wonderful read. An intense topic brought to light and handled with care.

Very Heavy. It started off heavy so i knew what to expect, it’s very real and a bit triggering (funny enough i thought i wouldn’t be bothered by the self-harming since i never struggled with that sorta thing) it went on and on. I wish there was some more depth, not just about them but the people around them! I feel like it was very vague at times, even in their own thoughts and not just her who’s struggling tremendously. I felt like I needed MORE! It is a good write, I just think it wasn’t enough, it stayed on and on, on the same thing. it could’ve been more condensed, some more happiness even. Obviously they achieved it at the end but it was at the VERY END. Spicy level 1/5 and I’m happy about it because I’m glad it showed that good sex cannot fix someone, I’m glad it didn’t show super unhealthy dependency. I believe the author did an amazing job showing the internal feelings she felt though, it didn’t feel dismissive to self-harming victims and that was important to me because I’m close with someone who’s one.

Amazing. Loved it.

The title is right.. I liked that this book described cutting behavior and put it in the context of another time- when the results could have been a trip to bedlam, but wasn’t- because of love! A beautiful book that brought tears.

Loved!. This book was written so beautifully. This addiction was represented amazingly, and accurately! Although it did lack a tad bit of storyline, beyond just the two main characters. Could’ve used a few other characters, and possibly one more problem solution scenario. Although, definitely worth a read.

ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I HAVE READ ALL YEAR!!!. What an amazing way to start a new series!! The Perfect Debutante by Annabelle Anders is book 1 in The Not So Saintly Sisters series. Annabelle’s writing keeps getting better and better and this one was so sad yet truly amazing. I learned a lot from reading this book, that we all have flaws and if you love someone you will accept them for who they are and what they do as we ourselves are flawed as well. Kudos to you Annabelle for reminding me of the need to accept things we cannot change. The characters of coarse are lovable and the descriptions are very visual. This story has an arranged marriage, sister love, death, an accident, grieving, anger, kindness, secrets, misunderstandings, being courted, acceptance and yes love!! I highly Recommend This Book!!! ***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.

WOW!!!. What an absolutely beautiful story! I honestly cannot recommend this book enough! It definitely needs more than five stars! You will fall in love with these amazing characters and story.

Not for me. Not sure what the writer was aiming for but it didn’t quite hit the mark, the subject matter doesn’t quite fit in a historical romance

A well told story - difficult to read at times.. I recommend reading the advice given by the author prior to reading this book. Although I loved the story and the characters - I found it difficult to read sometimes especially how Louella (the main female character) copes with the pressures of her life. I have met people with the same compulsive behaviour and I admit at times when reading I found it difficult to comprehend and accept why this character did what she did - even though she is fictional! To the author - well done for writing her flaws so beautifully. If you can - I highly recommend this book.

Trigger warning - repeated scenes of self-harm. This was a good story and for the most part I enjoyed the writing style. I acknowledge and appreciate the importance of highlighting mental health issues through literature but I would probably not have read it knowing there would be repeated scenes of self-harm throughout. I read this genre for lighthearted entertainment. It was a solid story and I liked the characters. The intimate scenes were few and far between and barely descriptive. I respect the author for tackling such a sensitive subject. It’s just not for me.

Good story line. The story line was great I prefer stories with less detail about sexual activity, so was disappointed with explicitness of their marriage bed

Triggering.. Telling people they can just cover up when they cut themselves is ridiculous. Couldn’t even get into the book because of it.

TRIGGER WARNING SELF HARM. Literally within the first few pages there’s clear descriptions of self harm that were extremely triggering. I didn’t expect it and it was really upsetting.

Taboo subject revealed. The subject of cutting oneself is difficult at best but in this story, acceptable explanation is presented. I also enjoyed the heroines adventurous sexual experiences for a virgin. Made for great reading
