Awesome book!!!. Definitely recommended! I read mostly during my hour long metro commute and this book made my commutes soo much nicer! Loved the book, it's one if the best free romances out there, if not the best. Certainly feels like a great book that you should have paid for. Regardless, I will support this author now and read more from this series and other of her titles!

Heiress Without A Cause. Had a good storyline but it was too drawn out making parts really boring. Story could’ve been cut in almost half and it would’ve made it so much better. More dialogue would’ve made it more interesting also.

Excellent. I loved this book. It had much more plot than girl-boy meet, hate each other at first, ultimately fall in love, etc. finally a historical romance with a storyline.

Good characters and story. I really liked this story line and the way the main characters, Madeleine and Ferguson, were developed. Had a lot of twists and turns which kept the story moving. The side stories of her friends and her families were added bonuses. Am anxious to continue reading this series.

Disappointed. The story line itself and characters were wonderful. I loved that it wasn't a "typical" romance story and that Mad risked everything to be true to herself. However, once I got half way through the book, nearly every chapter ended in the middle of a paragraph! I flipped pages back and forth to see if an additional page would appear. I deleted and re downloaded the book incase it was a glitch but nothing fixed the problem. So disappointed! I was left on cliff hangers through several chapters, trying to figure out what happened at the end of the last. Finally, I just gave up and moved on to another book. So sad I can't know the accurate story of Mad and Ferguson 😢

Meh. The storyline was ok, but the author needed to do a bit more research to make it better/more real. Also, the title is stupid - the theatre is her cause, which is surely the whole point of the book...

When the rake Duke, Ferguson, asks her to chaperone his twin sisters, she is saddened that she is so properly and boringly regarded. Secretly, she has been an actress playing Hamlet on stage for the last fortnight, to great acclaim. The next night, Ferguson sees her in the play and offers for her to become his mistress after kissing her. He didn't recognise her, however he followed her carriage home and then worked out who she was. The offer to pretend to be his mistress keeps her new flood of aggressively attentive men at bay. She loves that he is attracted to her wild streak, and sees a decent man behind his poor reputation. Their relationship grows more in both passion and regard. After trouble with her family and his ex-mistress they marry.

Heiress Without a Cause. I couldn't stop reading ... I was in the middle of reading another book when I happened across this one and intended just to get an idea in order to decide whether or not to buy. Instead, I just kept on reading to the end. Now I have to go back and finish the book I was reading, LOL. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the books about the characters I have already made an acquaintance with here. Highly recommend.

Couldn't get enough. Kept me reading when I should have been working!

I tried but couldn’t get into it. The story just didn’t do it for me. Unlike one of the others reviewers I stopped this book to finish another story but failed to get back into this one.
