The writing is so very poor. The writing was that of a middle schooler at times. I felt myself chuckling at ridiculously written sentences. In the end I couldn’t ever get halfway through the book before I said enough.

eh. The beginning reeled me in but the more i got into it, the more it dragged and felt kind of stupid and rushed. The ending was rushed and it just felt like the author lost interest in the story herself and just wanted to finish it.

Loved the main character. I loved the story and how strong the main character was but when I thought things were going to get a little steamy, I was left short. Still, it didn’t stop me from reading the whole thing. I wish this was a trilogy through.

Amazing. It’s perfect for those who don’t want some goody goody protagonist. It has an enemies to lovers trope and the plot is great.

I’ve never finished a book faster!!!. This book shook me to my very core, I honestly don’t think there are many more things to say. It is the perfect combination of passion, love, scandal, and friendship! And the ending left me completely shook, and even though it is only a standalone book, I couldn’t be more happy with how it ended!

This was amazing. This was amazing! I loved this book. Great characters! Alessandra is such a sassy, take no crap kind of girl! I loved the plot, the romance, and the mystery. I couldn’t put it down. Such vivid details. This is my favorite by this author, although I loved her other books as well!

Overall good. Would Shadow Between Us become one of my favorite books? Definitely not. Was it decent read? Perhaps? A bit of cliche with miss “I know it all” female lead. There’s no development to her character and for me personally very little liking. The court scheming and intrigues was probably the best part of book. Plot was promising but imo not delivered

Great book. I absolutely love this book. It had me at the edge of my seat the whole time and I love all the characters even the ones I’m meant to hate lol

Pretty good. It really felt like it should of been longer, so much left unsaid between the shadow king and our protagonist, Alessandra. Enjoyed reading from her point of view and found how mean she was funny most of the times, but her selfishness and bratty personality annoyed me. I didn’t know going into the book that it would be basically a romance, but I loved the slow burn all the same. Amazing work.

Enchanting, Unique, and Romantic. I absolutely loved the main female character in this book. She was unique, ambitious, empowering and confident. I wasn’t sure I’d like a “Slytherin” romance but I came away from the book loving with Kallias and Alessandra’s story. The plot was a little slow and the main characters are meant to be villainous at times, but I still couldn’t stop reading. Can’t wait for the next installment! This book is a must read for any Throne or Glass fans and enemies to lovers readers-and it has a great plot twist at the end.

It was ok. After all the amazing things I heard about this book I was very disappointed. I think the plot was slow and predictable. I really didn’t like the main character Alessandra. Overall it was a fine book

amazing. i’m not an easy book reader to please. books have to draw me in quickly and keep me interested until i’m hooked, and this book did exactly that! i loved it, it was amazing and i’ve found my new favorite characters!!

A good quick read. It’s not the best book I’ve ever read, but it’s still a good little read. The basic plot was pretty predictable in how things would end after about chapter five. Don’t get me wrong though, it was still enjoyable to a point it’s in no way a waste in time to read.

Yes strong woman. This one surprised me! It felt shallow at first, but that's bc I wasn't realizing the humor written into the narrative. Once I started viewing it as a fun dark romantic comedy, my enjoyment of the book skyrocketed.

R💡LEY. Utterly blown away! This book was the perfect fantasy romance. I loved the independent characters and how weakly human the author made them. They were tempted and gave into things like jealousy and fear that gave a realism to the story. I also loved the romance. I knew going into the book that the was the main plot was romance, however the author beautifully contrasted that with a fierce protagonist and a murder plot full of action. The ending seemed a bit rushed, I wish the two lovers had had more time together, but overall a good read. I would definitely recommended!

Good book!. I decided to start this standalone after reading a series and wanting a quick read and i really enjoyed it! I just wish there could have been a little bit more detail to it and i wish we could’ve seen more of the build of the characters relationship, but i still really liked it as a quick read!

I have no words.. I’ve been in a bit of a book rut lately and couldn’t find a good book, or at least one I could get through the first few pages of. Thankfully, this book was in my suggested section and I took a risk. It paid off, I couldn’t put the book down and finished it within two days of purchasing it. It has mystery, romance, a bit of violence, humor, and most of all a theme that will send you into the arms of your loved one. I would for sure recommend this book to anyone in high school, or even college if you’re bored too. This book is exciting and filled with scandalous love. Miss Levenseller has outdone herself and I cannot wait for the next book!

Should b 1 star. To be honest, I was really looking forward to reading this book. It was so predictable, maybe the ending was a bit shocking but not really. Really disappointed. I definitely wasted $10

great. literally amazing. by the end i was getting up and walking around. i had no idea what was going to happen. THE TWISTS AHHH SO GOOD!!!

So hard to find a rating. I didn’t know if I liked the book at first but I’m not the type to judge by a few pages after all I do read regardless if a book is bad or good. The Shadows Between Us had me indecisive for the most part. I hated Alessandra until the end, but I guess towards the last few chapters I disliked her but I also grew more understanding of her. Kallias was the male lead in which I wish I knew more about. I wish there could have been a deeper backstory to him but even with the “my parents are dead” trope, there wasn’t much more to him than that. As for the storyline, it was decent and I liked it very much especially towards the end when we find out who the real killer of Kallias’ parents were. I also enjoyed the ending very much, in other books, the ending seems rushed and sloppy but somehow in this one it seemed decent. I think what really threw me off was the lack of characterization for both characters. I still dislike the fact that Alessandra killed her ex lover and left with a pardon. I understand her reasoning for killing him but personally it seemed so stupid. Personally, rather than a 2 it was a 2.5 because at the end of the day the storyline was great and the ending was too.

Amazing book. I usually prefer my books to have spice in them but Tricia is the exception to the rule. This was a great book. I love reading her thoughts and the plot twist was also great.

We love a motivated protagonist. Does she try to kill him and take his kingdom? Yes. However, it’s a breath of fresh air for a character to be this driven and I couldn’t stop reading because of it
