wonderful. but long and sometimes dry
Excellent. Surprising and delightful.
Charming, original and witty. Loved every page and occasionally lol’ed.. The 19th century turns of phrase love you with a constant grin on your face. Lovers of the English language will be enthralled.
Mr. Norrel and Mr. Strange. A most satisfying read! A narrative voice that has just the right shades and highlights of feeling, generous but never overcrowded descriptive detail. The rhythms and turbulences of this prose, and the intimate tone with which Ms Clark addresses the reader shows her joy in storytelling.
A great book. No notes, an excellent book that I loved.
