Lovd. I had a great time with the characters in this book. The storyline was great and well written. The characters are well developed and engaging and drew me in. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sweet Fall Romance. Aiden is forced to make a detour when his life as a political reporter crashes and burns. But the saying that some things happen for a reason is true when he discovers joy in taking pictures and writing human interest stories like Emily’s dog rescue and her motley crew of fosters. I love those type of stories the best and wish there were more of them in the news. I loved Maple, the handicapped chihuahua who races around on wheels. She was so joyful when she has so many reasons not to be. All of Emily’s dogs were special and I loved how Aiden featured them and all the wonderful things he wrote about the rescue, the dogs, and a special letter in particular he posts near the end of the book. But Aiden gets an offer to be a political reporter again and he has to decide if that’s still his dream. He does play with Emily’s emotions kissing her and acting like a boyfriend when he’s not sure if he’s going to stay in Birdsong. The dogs really stole the show in this sweet fall romance.

Falling in Puppy Love. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it. This was a wonderful tale of a disgraced reporter, Aiden Hughes, from New York coming to Birdsong to stay with his aunt. He gets a couple of assignments from the local paper. He goes to interview a local resident that operates a non-profit animal (basically dogs) rescue, Emily McLane. In the process of helping Emily with her dogs by setting up a website and taking photos of some of the animals, these two really grow closer together. Emily knows that Aiden is just in town until another big-town paper hires him despite the previous scandal. But in the mean time, through his help, Emily's non-profit really starts to gain ground. Emily decides to tell Aiden of her feelings so he can make a better more informed decision on rather stay in Birdsong or leave for the big city. I loved the fact that this book was in a dual POV format. It really helps me to fully understand the character, especially if the scene goes in a different direction than I anticipated. This is a clean romance with no scenes that would probably offend anyone.
