Another wonderful book from Christine Dillon!. I awaited the latest instalment in Christine Dillon's Grace series with great anticipation - and I was not disappointed! Grace In The Desert included all the elements that led me to fall in love with the first three books of the series - the Australian setting that makes me feel right at home, captivating fiction involving real-life struggles that I can understand and relate to, and as always theology that is firmly based in God's word. I enjoyed 'touching base' with familiar characters once again - they feel like old friends now! - and seeing their relationship with God develop and strengthen. Along the way, I was challenged in my own Christian walk.

Inspiring story. This is a great story...this story inspires me about the way God works in the lives of people who are broken and hurt from life's circumstances and how He brings healing and gives them a new start.

Excellent Christian Fiction. This is Christineā€™s fourth novel in this series and I think it is her best. I appreciate the realness & relatability of the characters as they encounter challenges and struggles that are real to life. This book follows Pete and Rachel in their individual struggles of dealing with the trauma of their pasts and how Godā€™s grace can be active and evident despite hurt, pain and shame. It is a beautiful and heart-warming story, written with great skill to take the reader on a journey to experience a clear reminder that nothing we do is beyond Godā€™s forgiveness and that His love for us as His children, is boundless.

Diverse, lovingly-written cast. Lovely! One thing that struck me in this book is what diverse characters the author draws, with such a respectful and loving eye. Also the most wholesome, encouraging and realistic Christian romance plot line I've read.

A compelling read. Its easy to love this book. A sensitive and reflective novel that prompts the reader to think about how our past affects and shapes both our present and our future. A key theme of forgiveness is thoughtfully explored from two perspectives but tied together beautifully by the author in this, the fourth book in the Grace series. My heart ached for the two central characters Rachel and for Pete at multiple points in the story, for their souls, their relationships with their family and friends, and for each other. A compelling and uplifting read ā€“ my favourite in the series so far.

A Rich Oasis. Christine Dillonā€™s fourth book in the ā€œGraceā€ series is every bit as gut wrenching and uplifting as her first three. Itā€™s a book that tackles head-on the difficult issue of forgiveness: of oneself, and of others. Yet it does so with compassion and sensitivity. I love how Christine weaves her tales around true-to-life characters -Ā who seem so real you could hug them -Ā and historical events which she describes with such clarity and vividness you canā€™t help but cry. All of Christineā€™s books are a wonderful encouragement to followers of Christ. Whether her characters spend time reading the Bible or in prayer, fellowship with other believers or sharing their faith, the underlying message comes across so organically, how could you not want more of the same in your own life? But the books are also a gentle challenge to non-believers: to look carefully at the person of Jesus Christ and thoughtfully consider his life-changing claims. And just like her last three novels, this one left me wanting more: more of her vibrant, joyful, thirst-quenching, technicolor world.

When Life Doesnā€™t Go To Plan, What Do You Do?. Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book but all opinions are my own and I have subsequently purchased my own. This is book 4 in the Grace series, read them in order and this book will make much more sense. As usual Christine Dillon's books are engaging and practical. I look forward to them each year. This book is all about life not exactly going to plan. How can you trust God even in the hard times? Would recommend to both Christians and non-Christians alike.
