Didn’t love the characters.. This book just wasn’t my favorite. I honestly didn’t like the main characters. I love how there is someone out there for everyone and opposites attract and all, but I just didn’t love them. Sad, I know! Brenden was a bit obsessed with Piper even only after 5 days of meeting her. It could have been romantic, but it sounded a bit forced. On the other hand, Piper acted like a 16 year old instead of 26 year old adult. I know that was the point of her just being this overprivileged child, but she kind of seemed one dimensional toward the middle of the book. Honestly it could have been the beanie that threw me off from the get go Lol.

WOW. I literally purchased this book and normally it takes me about a month to finish one like this. I finished this puppy in TWO DAYS. 10/10 such a good read.

First book. This is the first book I’ve ever finished after starting. Enemies to lovers type. It kept me hooked. It’s written in third person which I didn’t care about before but after reading books in first person I couldn’t find it in me to finish her other related book “hook, line and sinker”. Nevertheless it’s still 10/10. Loved it.

Hey, Siri, find me apartments for lease in Westport, WA. Let’s all just pretend for a moment that someone my age is supposed to read this book, and get passed our differences. It seems that, for some reason, I’m always traveling when I read a romance series that makes me want to chuck it into the nearest body of water. Unlucky for “It Happened One Summer” I was staying about 3 meters away from a lake in Scotland. Sadly, my brother beat me to it, and now my pages smell like hot-chocolate. Anyways, lets talk about how insufferable Tessa Bailey is when it comes to climax’s. And NO, I don’t mean the ones that happened about 2.3 trillion times in this book. I mean the literary climax, AKA when everything starts crashing down like a pile of fine china that was stacked way too high. So, the book has some build up to the climax, but it is so sprinkled and untouched that the actual climax seems almost… too abrupt? This might just be me, but when finishing this book on a train to London, my nails were creating creases in my palm. And I know that many call this good writing, so do I, but I still felt like I wasn’t worried enough before hand. I recommend Tessa Bailey to whoever wants a good ending… and I mean one that will make you stare into space, questioning your life choices to the point where you wonder if you’ve ever passed up someone as hot as Brendan Taggart. I didn’t cry, but my mom swore there was steam coming out of my ears. Characterization: 1 Plot: 1 Theme/Message: 1 Cliché: 0 Overall Enjoyment: 1

Amazing. I LOVED ! LOVED ! this book so dang much ! I could not put it down I did not go to sleep until 11AM the NEXT day and then took a hour nap and woke up just to read AGAIN ! This book is amazing , it’s so dang amazing . It’s just amazing ! I felt like i was watching a movie and screaming at the screen the whole time ! I moved . I laughed , I cried , I screamed , I almost broke my face by smiling so dang much . It’s a wondering book , just wondering ! I was praying that this book didn’t have a female walk away from happiness like all the other romantic books and it didn’t and i loved that ! instead it had the girl fight for happiness , fight for what she wanted with the fears involved . Oh , Oh i’ve loved it ! I’ve absolutely, positively , loved it . Oh .

This book is everythingggg. Finished this in less than a day. Obsessed is an understatement. Great banter between characters, amazing character development, and super steamy scenes made for an addictive book. Will definitely read again and will read more from her!!!

👍 Excellent!. I can’t say enough good things about this book. Sweet, funny, hot, sentimental, witty and romantic are just a few of the adjectives I would use to describe it. The storyline (a seemingly spoiled and shallow socialite is forced to spend three months in the hometown of her long deceased father, and she finds love there while discovering herself) is heads above what is typically found in this genre. All of the main and supporting characters are uniformly interesting and capture our hearts. Tessa Bailey, keep writing them like this.

Such an AMAZING raw love story!. This has been one of my favorite books I’ve read! I actually finished it and then read it again it was so good. I can not wait for the second book to come out to find out about Hannah’s story ☺️

A sweet escape. Predictable but in a good way :) The characters were complex and well written. I assumed this would be the typical haters to lovers trope, but it was so much more. Easy to read and couldn’t put it down! I read this in less than a day it is THAT GOOD! A must read.

Perfection. Im literally left with a giant gaping hole in my heart. I finished this and hook line and sinker in two days. I feel empty, and I NEED more. These were hands down the best books ive ever read. I could fully read them every day for the rest of my life. Ten out of Ten.

HOTTTT. Took awhile for it to build up but once it did, I couldn’t put it down! I was looking for more of a spicy romantic book, compared to the PG ones I normally read, and this one did not disappoint. Love the character development and the non-cringy sexy love story.

Starts slow. Starts slow and not as dirty as some of her other books but a wonderful love story with some spiciness mixed in.

Cute story but. The ebook version doesn’t have the chapters titled. I guess it switches point of view. It’s very hard to keep track of what’s going on. I couldn’t finish it.

Couldn’t put it down. I think I read this in about a day! They balanced each other out so well and I’m glad he appreciated her for who she was and didn’t try to mold her into someone who fit the town mold better. They were captivating!

A MUST READ!. This was my first book I read by Tessa Bailey, and she changed the game. Her writing is everything from hilarious, witty, to vulgar and to the point. You will absolutely fall in love with Piper and Brenden… A great summer read. I couldn’t put this down and finished in two days.

It Happened One Summer. Could have been a sweet story but the ridiculous sex scenes were a real turn off.

A- MAZE- ING. Just finished and it’s a 10/10 read. The plot is good and really easy to follow. A great love story that makes your heart so happy. Something happens and your heart hurts in chapters 30 and 31 but chapter 32 glues it back together. The spicy scenes are the right amount of spicy and not unrealistic. Will definitely have your heart racing in more places than your chest! But over all 10/10 reccomend

Easy happy read. Easy to ready, lay on the beach kind of read. Not the worlds best written book, but definitely one you can finish quickly.

Great first book of Duology…I think that’s the word for a two book series lol. It was good. I really enjoyed this one. Felt like their romance gradually deepened. Main girl Piper was alright. I think I got annoyed at Hollywood lifestyle and behavior but she grew on me throughout the book. Brendan is hot but I felt he was lacking. Really grumpy to Piper’s sunshine. But he was fine overall. I gave it 4 stars out of 5.

It happened one summer. Oh my days this book was so cute. Piper is such a queen I love her man she deserved everything. And her sister too. They were literally amazing together such good sibling love. Brendan was also an king man not going to lie at the beginning he was a bit of a dick but he grew so hey.

The details were great. I really enjoyed this book! The details in everything were great and the story was so deep and different to other books I’ve read! I have to admit the spice is what really made it interesting! Overall a great book!

Soooo good!!. So, so good! I genuinely loved this book! The relationship between Brendan and Piper is so sweet, realistic and heart warming. The sexy bits are *spicy*. The whole story moves at a quick pace and had me hooked from the first to the last. Don’t let the description stop you. Yes piper is a glam party girl who is sent somewhere as salt of the earth as it gets- but she’s honestly such a beautiful character, she has a real depth and sparkle. Brendan is oh my goodness dreamy- he’s such a steady character who is not at all a standoffish grump as the trope usually includes. He is romantic and dedicated right from the start. I would 100% recommend this to someone looking for a chicklit romance with some depth.

Surprisingly Amazing. I was stunned by this book! At first Piper annoyed me. I didn’t think the story would go anywhere with her being an “airhead” but man oh man, it got really good. Simply couldn’t put it down, read it all in one day.
