Worst Best Friend Ever by J. S. Cooper Book Summary

I've been writing letters to a military man overseas and now he's coming back home...

I started writing to Cody two years ago while he was stationed at a base overseas. I've told him everything about my life...only I slightly embellished some parts. Like the fact that I'm really into sports, have a serious boyfriend, and I'm in my fifties. I had my reasons, you see, but now he wants to meet and I'm scared he's going to think I'm a big liar.

So I decide to tell him that I'm his penpals daughter, yeah, nothing like adding oil to the fire. But when we meet I can't help but think how handsome he is and how I want more. But how can I ever start a relationship with someone that doesn't really know the real me? Am I the worst best friend ever?

Wonderful. I have read the previous books for this series and I must say that so far this is my favorite it was sweet and funny. I definitely recommend this book! I like that they had a pen pal relationship before they met and thought that it’s very easy to love someone who you never met because writing is so personal…. My husband and I wrote to each other for two years and we got married five months after he came home, we will celebrate 38 year this year…. Thank you Jamie I love this book

Comical. I really liked this story...Cody and Emma have great chemistry even though it started out as a lie. Emma didn't want Cody to know that too much about her so she said a few fibs in the letters she sent him while in Afghanistan. But when the tour was over and he wanted to meet the 50 year old Emma (hint, that is a lie. She's not in her 50's) things came to a head when she just couldn't lie to him any longer. Once they get to know each other in person a little better the chemistry just gets better.

Such a great book. Y’all this book was great. I died laughing when Emma was trying to come up with her new name. She was so stressed out about. Lol. And so funny with the fake Emma. You can read and just feel the chemistry between Emma and Cody. JS Cooper hits another book out of the park. I just love all her books. =)

Best story in the series. I have to admit this is my favorite love story In The Worst Ever Series so far. Love Emma’s bold and quirky way in finding friendship and love. What I love the most is Cody, the perfect boyfriend! The entire story was full of all kinds of funniness and the sexiness and all that makes this story a perfect feel good romantic comedy story. Once again I love it!

Cody and Emma. Another great book by JS Cooper. This one deals with a little white lie. Cody and Emma were pen pals while Cody was in Afghanistan. When he came to visit he found out she lied. You must read their story to see how they resolved their little lie problem. I think you will enjoy reading Worst Best Friend Ever.

Sweet Read. These characters are great, they are funny, sweet and just belong together. i didn’t want their story to end!

Worst Best Friend. Emma is Cody’s pen pal while he is deployed to Afghanistan, they develop a strong friendship. Emma lies about her age and when Cody wants to meet her in person she does not know what to do. When she finally tells the truth Cody can’t trust her. The more they spend time together he forgives her and the attraction between them builds. I received an Advance Readers Copy of this book.

Fun Exciting Read. Emma and Cody are a great couple. They started as pen pals and it was interesting to see them fall in love. J.S. Cooper’s writing just gets better and better. Definitely a must read.

Entertaining. Worst Best Friend Ever is the third book in the A Time For Love series. Cody and Emma's story was interesting and had entertaining moments. Their were pen pals during his military career and when he gets out he wants to meet her. But not everything she shared was the truth and to get out of it she has to get creative when she wants to meet her in person. This was only my first read of the series and it did not disappoint.

:-). Emma didn’t expect to ever meet Cody in person. The unexpected meet was pivotal and I enjoyed reading that story. It’s great to see how this batch of best friends each find love. I can’t wait to read the next one.

GREAT BOOK!!. This is a great read! You definitely need to get this book!! It makes you think about little things in life!!

Loved it. I loved Emma and Cody’s story!! I always love a military story but this was one fun on top of it. I loved the banter, the pull they had toward each other and the overall love. There was some very funny parts that i chuckled at well as thought ahhhh. It was well written and had a good storyline. I would defiantly recommend this!

Best friends or more. Emma and Cody have been getting to know each other, while Cody is deployed, by writing letters to each other. They consider each other one of their best friends, so it shouldn’t be a surprise to Emma that Cody wants to finally meet. He’s out of the Army and taking a break before getting back in to civilian life. Big problem! Emma has been telling Cody lies about herself, lol. What’s going to happen when the truth comes out? No spoilers, so grab your copy and get ready to fall for Cody. If you enjoy a book with some steam, some laughs, and some angst, you’ll not be disappointed with this read. I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Amazing story. I received this book through Bookfunnel and this is my honest review. This is a wonderful story by JS Cooper. This was a great story with a great storyline and amazing chemistry between Emma and Cody. They become pen pals while Cody is deployed. When he returns he wants to meet her. There are a few bumps in their story but they finally get their happily ever after.

Swoon!!!. Cody has jumped up the ladder to my favorite fictional character! This book was another nonstop page turner by the Queen J.S Cooper! Watching these two overcome what can only be described as a terrible first impression was just heart warming. To feel everything the characters felt and to read the chemistry boiling on each page is just the tip of the iceberg on why this book is a great read and a must read!!!

Loved. I loved everything about this well developed and smooth flowing storyline. To the amazing chemistry between Cody and Emma it’s entertaining and kept me engaged. I received a copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Must read!. Emma and Cody are pen pals. They have been writing each other while Cody is deployed. Emma wasn’t totally honest with Cody and now that he’s coming home she’s in a bind to figure out what to do. Cody is excited to finally Emma and Thank her for getting him through his deployment. They make arrangements to meet and that’s where the story gets funny, touching and hard to put down.

Great book!!. This was a great book!! This one touched home for me in so many ways. It’s so true that so many vets feel so lost when they return stateside. I wish all of their true life stories turned out like this one.

Entertaining. A very entertaining story with an interesting plot snd two likable characters who have amazing chemistry. I enjoyed the drama surrounding the characters. I especially liked the embellishments which added a touch of humor to the story. I enjoyed reading this book. I requested a copy of this book and am voluntarily writing a review.

Love after lies. I received this ebook ARC from the author, on the condition that I write an honest review. I loved this story of finding love after confronting lies. Friends thru letters, the couple learns to overcome lies, to discover a true love. Cody has returned from war, and is looking to visit his pen pal of two years, a woman that he believes is a 50 year old. He arrives in New York, and is greeted with a totally different situation. Emma is a hard working woman, making a living, by working at a jazz club, and being harassed by the different musicians. She is the pen pal, and her insecurities have made her send false information to Cody, in her letters. When they finally meet in person, Emma’s lies begin piling on each other, and Cody cannot cope with all the lies. He leaves and tries to reconcile all the lies. Emma reaches out to him, and apologizes about all the lies, and mistaken information. Slowly they attempt to begin as new friends, and this leads to the beginnings of a relationship. Their acceptance of each other leads to an HEA for the couple. I’ve read several books written by J. S. Cooper, and she has a way of keeping the reader’s attention throughout the entire book. Her books have friendship, lust, some angst, and eventually love. I always enjoy her books, and highly recommend them.

Pen pals. I enjoyed reading this book. They have been pen pals for two years and have really gotten to know each other. The only problem is, she lied about her age and relationship status and now he is coming for a visit. Another good read by JS Cooper that I would recommend. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.

Friends to Lovers. Have you ever thought that by keeping a secret from someone you cared about you were helping them more than if you told them? Thinking that if you told them the truth it would just end up hurting them. I think this is just what we might tell ourselves when we hide the truth from someone or maybe it was in Emma’s case. Emma has been writing letters with a military man overseas and she now finds herself in a difficult situation as she has embellished information in her writings with Cody. Now they are supposed to meet. What do you do when you have to face up to the things you have said that are not necessarily so? Well Emma sure has found some very interesting ways to embrace her first encounter with Cody and to explain away details of “Emma’s” letters. What comes as a shock to Emma is the immediate and unexpected chemistry she has with Cody upon meeting him in person. She knew they had a connection from writing but this different so now the question is what is she going to do to solve her mess. This was a fun and entertaining story full of laughs and love. You will be turning the pages to see how things unfold for Emma and Cody and certainly it won’t disappoint. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Loved it. Emma and Cody’s are pen pals that turns into a kinda lifeline for Cody while he’s deployed but he’s back and wants to meets his newfound pen pal Emma is in straight up panic mode cause of certain lies she’s told thinking she would never actually meet Cody but when she does the story and funny banter take off tenfold

Their letters. Emma has been writing letters to a soldier for 2 years while he was stationed overseas and they have become the best of friends. However, Cody, the soldier doesn’t know that Emma is actually 28, not 55 as she wrote in her letters. Emma’s weekly letters made Cody feel closer to home and helped him through the rough times in Afghanistan. When he returns home he plans to go to New York City and meet her but Emma panics because she lied about who she really was. She decides to lie to Cody when he comes and tell him she is Emma’s daughter when she meets him. They grow closer after they meet but will Emma’s lies drive them apart when he Cody realizes the truth? I thoroughly enjoyed this story where strangers became close friends after exchanging letters for 2 years but later discovered Emma had been lying about herself. Cody was a soldier going through rough times overseas and Emma’s letters helped him and he looked forward to meeting her. They had both revealed their innermost feelings but Emma was afraid to tell him the truth about herself and that caused problems. I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Must read. I absolutely loved reading this book. Cody and Emma more or less fall in love at first sight. I love that Cody was so smitten with Emma that he couldn’t help but get over the fact that she lied about her identity at first meet. Emma and Her friends antics trying to figure out the story she needed to tell Cody were hilarious. Love the entire series and can’t wait for Chloe’s story next.

Enjoyed. Overall, I enjoyed this story. It was entertaining, and for the most part, held my interest. But I found that at times, I did have a hard time getting into it. But, I loved the characters, and was invested in their story. This is the third in this series, and another enjoyable installment.

Lighthearted fun read. Worst Best Friend Ever is a sweet, tender, and romantic story! I LOVED IT, it's heartwarming, romantic, with a little deception, a big surprise, and sizzling chemistry. You will fall in love with Emma and Cody’s romancey story!💞 This is an awesome read! I definitely recommend adding it to to-do list I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Why oh why Emma?. It’s now time for Emma to shine and get her hea, it may take longer as she hasn’t gone about it the right way,! This is hilarious, witty, sexy ( retired soldier?, yes please) and so well written as we’ve come to expect from ms cooper. I was so rooting for Cody and Emma. I very much enjoyed the characters and the friendships. Read the first two just to get an idea of who’s who but you will love it just the same. Just Chloe left to get her hea. Can’t wait. I received this arc for an honest review. Done and done.

Absolutely Amazing Read. This is book three in A Time For Love Series and it is Cody and Emma's story and omg it is definitely a must read. Emma has been writing to Cody who is in the military for a couple of year's but she hasn't told him the truth about herself and now he is home and wants to meet her and she didn't know how she was going to explain all her life to him and she would loose him as a friend. Cody is now retired from the military after being in Afghanistan for two year's and he can't wait to meet and thank Emma for all her letter and care packages that she went him as it kept him going through everything and have him hope in some of the dark times then as a civilian he needed to decide what to do next with his life. What will happen when Emma tells Cody that she lied to him and will they be able to get over everything and realise that they are perfect for each other. Omg I absolutely loved his Emma and Cody reacted to each other and they were so funny, sassy, protective, cute, thoughtful, caring, suggestive, flirtatious, comical and had me laughing so much and I couldn't put this book down and read it in one sitting as I had to keep turning the pages to see what the outcome would be for them. J. S. Cooper is an amazing author and writer and this book shows just how much talent she has and how she can keep your attention throughout while reading her books and I definitely recommend you read this book and others by her and you will not be disappointed. I Voluntarily Reviewed a Copy of This Book.

Such a great read.. I absolutely loved this book. It was such a great read.

Fun and easy. I love this series and this book is no exception. Fun, flirty, steamy and a HEA. The lies in Emma’s letters to Cody while he was on deployment have made things awkward and difficult between them and no one regrets it more than Emma. After the initial surprise, anger and confusion they try to start over and things grow from there. Some LOL moments and a little heartache but it all turns out in the end. I received an ARC copy and am leaving an honest review.

Stayed up reading all night. I was absolutely hooked on this book! The characters were real, funny and there was great banter between them all. Emma and Cody were just perfect for each other, though they have a lot to work through after a rocky start. Can this work out for them or will they be pen pals forever? I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my voluntary and honest opinion.

Enjoyable read. Great storyline that had me well and truly hooked. The plot is well developed and runs smoothly Definitely the right ingredients to make it an absolutely enjoyable read.
