Since you’ve been gone. Emmaline Ryan loved her hometown of Magnolia Sound and being a teacher. She was trying to survive living while trying to pay off her ex-husband’s debts. She gave up believing in miracles long ago but was looking one to appear to save her family’s animal rescue. Garrett Coleman had loved Emmaline since she was eight years old. Things in life changed for both of them and they lost keeping in touch with each other. When Garrett returned to Magnolia Sound to visit his family, he is known as the “#Hot Doc” and a social media star. Garrett worked hard to become a veterinarian and he finds himself questioning his abilities and social status in veterinary medicine. With his chance encounter meeting Emmaline once again, Garrett finds himself having another chance to love again. Add in his teasing brothers, a long forgotten father, and many animals needing care and rescue, Garrett has to prove to everyone, especially to himself, that he is up for the challenge. Emotions run high, fears are faced, and life’s complications make for a fantastic story! Definitely, a five star book!

Excellent!!. This story really touched my heart. Emmaline (Emma) and Garrett’s story goes from a long time friendship to discovering their mutual feelings and the family entanglements and life that intercedes. The way Emma and Garrett navigate their way through it all to come out on the other side is sweet and beautiful. I loved Emma’s independence when it came to what she wanted and the way she was able to give Garrett his confidence back. From the first paragraph I couldn’t put it down.

Must Read Sweet Romance. I love that Since You’ve Been Gone is an old friends reunion and turn into lovers. Emma never knew Garrett had a crush on her since they were little. It’s fun to watch her discover he does and to see how that plays out. They also have the obstacle that he does not live in Magnolia Sound. I thought Since You’ve Been Gone was a wonderful read. I thought that it is so sweet and so romantic. Emma and Garrett are both wonderful characters that you can’t help but love and cheer their relationship on. I also love that they have a dog rescue, we just got a dog this year from a local dog rescue so that made it that much more special to me The magnolia sound books always make me long to visit a small coastal town, and I absolutely adore Since You’ve Been Gone and all the Magnolia Sound books. This book is a Must Read!!

All the feels. Magnolia Sound is one of my favourite places to escape too so I was excited when I heard we were getting Emmaline (Emma) Ryan and Garrett Coleman’s friends to lovers story and I wasn’t disappointed because this book was everything I expected and so much more. Ms Chase knows how to draw you into her stories with wonderful words that paint pictures inside your head and once again we get another perfect addition to the Magnolia Sound Series. Garrett knew he loved Emma when he was only 8 years old but he never let her know, leaving Magnolia Sound seemed right at the time but now he is back for a visit and determined to tell the woman who haunts his dreams his real feelings for her. Problem is will he be staying …… Has fate finally got Emma and Garrett together or will a stranger from the past tear them apart before they have a chance to build a future. You need to read the book to find that out. This book ticked all my boxes, I fell hard and fast for Garrett, I adored Emma and her family because let’s be honest what’s not to love about a family you run a animal rescue. Samantha Chase has a way with words, she makes you feel you are visiting friends with every book you pick up and for me this story is one of my favourites in the series. I loved everything about Since You’ve Been Gone including the puppy kisses from the rescue pups.

Loved it. Ms. Chase’s writing is so descriptive they I can easily visualize myself in Magnolia Sound and I love visiting this town. This is Emmaline (Emma) Ryan and Garrett Coleman and I was invested from the fist to the last paragraph. At a cross roads, Garrett returns to Magnolia Sound for the weekend and to re access what he wants out of life. Running into the woman he has loved since he was 8 years old, he is determined that this time she know his feelings, but is it fair to her, after all he isn’t planning on staying, or is he? Could fate finally put these two together? Nothing worth having comes easy and Garrett finds that he is not the only one with feelings and doubts. When the past comes back to haunt them, will it break them apart for good or give them the opportunity to forge a relationship that will stand the test of time? I really felt for both characters, particularly Emma, she has so much going on, trying to help her parents’ animal rescue shelter, working full time and trying to keep an eye on her siblings and it is all becoming too much to handle. Could Garrett be the answer to her prayers? As I have come to expect from a Samantha Chase book, it was well written with characters that are human, ones that you cannot help but want to learn more about; easy to relate to, likeable and “real” they could be a member of your family, or a close friend. I had so many emotions reading this book and have no hesitation in recommending it.
