Charm Me by Samantha Chase Book Summary

There isn't anyone in Laurel Bay he hasn't been able to charm.
But charming a baby is a whole different story.

Life has never been better for Jamie Donovan. But then again,it's always has been good to him. And now that it's his turn to take charge of the family pub, he truly feels like everything in his life is just the way it's supposed to be. Or it was until an early morning knock on his door ended with a baby on his doorstep. The man who can normally charm his way out of any situation doesn't know the first thing about taking care of a baby and running a business. And so he turns to his siblings for help.

And once they tell him their solution, he wishes he'd never asked for help.

Fallon Murphy has always prided herself on being good with people. In all her life, she's only met one person she hasn't been able to get along with. Unfortunately, their parents are best friends and avoiding him just wasn't a choice. When his sister calls stating an emergency, the last thing Fallon expects is to find an abandoned baby – one that belongs to Jamie. As much as she'd love nothing more than to see Jamie fail at something, she would never put an innocent child at risk.

They're rivals.
Sworn enemies.
And now…roommates.
Can one small baby help turn adversaries into lovers? Or maybe even…a family?

Loved Jamie and Fallon. Charm Me is the 4th book in The Donavans Series but can be read as a standalone. Can I just say how much I love The Donavans. They love hard, they are protectors, meddlers, and banter like the best of them. This was Jamie’s story and it was the perfect small town, single dad, forced proximity, enemies to lovers story. It was sweet, sassy, sexy. Jamie was the Casanova of the clan. He was working at the pub, was a charmer, flirtatious, easy going, and loved to have fun. Fallon, has always know what she wanted. She wanted to be CEO of a company. She was smart, sassy, and focused. Fallon and Jamie had know each since childhood. They always had a competitive streak, they pushed each others buttons, and challenged each other. But, when both of their lives are turned upside down, the childhood nemesis’ make a pact to help each other out. But, what happens a baby brings them together? These two definitely took me in a roller coaster ride of emotions. They let their guards down enough to form friendship, and possibly more. But, trust and insecurities from the past make this story slightly angsty and complex. They ran from the truth, but it was great to see them grow as individuals and as a couple. They realized that somethings were just always meant to be. As always I love how Chase gives us a chapter for the next story. Can’t wait to see Patrick get his turn in her next book Kiss Me. Great read.

A Recipe of Love and Friendship!!. This story was a lot of fun! Jaime and Fallon have the perfect balance of love and friendship that makes a relationship last. I love the competitiveness between them but also the love that shows through the pages. I love single Dad stories and this is one of the best.

Charming indeed!. Four and a half stars Jamie Donovan and Fallon Murphy have been butting heads a long time. Decades, in fact. CHARM ME is the fourth in Samantha Chase’s Donovan family series, and in this book, charmer Jamie has absolutely come face to face with the situation and person he can’t actually charm. Samantha Chase brings Jamie and his loving if sometimes intrusive family to life, and Fallon ends up in the middle of all this as she’s trying to find her own best way forward. They realize relatively quickly that after years of antagonism, they actually get along relatively well and work together to help care for the truly innocent little Asher, Jamie’s baby son. Jamie definitely has some far from stellar moments along the way, but ultimately he manages to get his priorities straight and find a way to take care of those he loves. Fallon comes into her own as well, and I also appreciated that Asher’s mom isn’t villainized, and that she is written compassionately. A good addition to the series.

All the feels. Another visit to Laurel Bay and another catch up with the crazy Donovan clan. This time around we get to know Jamie Donovan and Fallon Murphy and boy do they have an entertaining tale to tell. What do you do when you suddenly find a baby on the doorstep, well if you are a Donovan you call your family for help. Problem is they in turn call the woman who drives you crazy and before you know it Fallon has become nanny to Asher who is Jamie’s newborn. What follows is an entertaining journey as Jamie and Fallon decide to put the past and their feelings behind them and concentrate on baby Asher. The only problem here is we all know there fine line between love and hate and as they spend time together feelings come bubbling to the surface. Will the future be rosy for Jamie, Fallon and Asher…..one click this gem of a read to find out. I loved this book, I adored the characters, I love how the Donovan siblings always pull together when needed but what took this story to another level was watching Jamie go from a player to a father. Looking forward to reading more from the family I think of as friends.

Enjoyable. Charm Me was a well written story that ticked a number of boxes for me. This time we have Jamie Donovan and Fallon Murphy’s and it was an enjoyable read. It was good to be back in Laurel Bay and the crazy, often interfering Donovan family. It was entertaining to watch the push and pull dynamic as Jamie and Fallon’s story unfolded. What happens when you suddenly find yourself with a baby to look after? That’s the position that Jamie finds himself in as he turns to his family for help. Their response is to call in the one woman who gets his hackles up, Fallon. I had a hard time liking Jamie, he annoyed me at times and I wanted him to grow up. The sparks have always flown between Jamie and Fallon but when baby Asher is added to the mix, then a truce needs to occur. I had a hard time liking Jamie, he annoyed me at times and I wanted to shake some sense into him. His about turn with his feelings towards Fallon seemed a trifle to fast but then this is a romance book. I did admire the growth Jamie went through and the relationship he developed with Asher melted my heart. The other Donovan’s did what they do best and poked their noses into the relationship and that made for some fun.

4 1/2 Stars for these enemies-to-lovers!. Ms. Chase has this style of writing that warms your heart and feeds your soul. I love the Donovan clan ... they are all so realistic and make me want to live in their world. Jamie can charm the panties off any woman he wants ... except Fallon. Even though he's a little arrogant, he's very lovable and just wants to be friends with the women after he dates them. Everyone thinks Fallon is successful with her degree and has it all together, but she really doesn't and she doesn't want to disappoint her parents. This is a great addition to the series and I can't wait for Patrick's story. Jamie and Fallon have been rivals since they were five years old. Everything was a competition and frankly they just didn't like each other. But when a baby is dropped on Jamie's porch - his baby that he knew nothing about - he panics and calls his siblings for help. The Donovan siblings in turn call Fallon. They know she just got back to Laurel Bay, has a degree in early childhood development and would be the perfect person to show Jamie how to care for his son. The only trouble is they have to get Jamie and Fallon to agree ... good luck with that! I received an early courtesy of Valentine PR and NetGalley.

Emotional & entertaining. CHARM ME is the fourth instalment in Samantha Chase’s contemporary, adult THE DONOVANS romance series. This is bartender Jamie Donovan, and Fallon Murphy’s story line. CHARM ME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.. Told from dual third person perspectives (Jamie and Fallon) CHARM ME follows in the wake of a baby left on Jamie Donovan’s front step. Jamie Donovan and Fallon Murphy do not get along having fought with one another all of their lives but a surprise baby means Jamie is desperate for help, and his sister Ryleigh knows just the person to help Jamie at home. Fallon Murphy has a degree in early childhood education but is struggling to keep or find a job. Never suspecting she would be set up, Fallon comes to face to face with her childhood turn adult nemesis Jamie Donovan, the man with whom she will fall in love. As Jamie struggles to raise his infant son on his own, Fallon will discover that growing close to the child means growing close to the man who could break her heart. What ensues is the building relationship between Fallon and Jamie, and the potential fall-out when the child’s mother returns, and demons from the past push Fallon out of Jamie’s life. The relationship between Jamie and Fallon is an enemies to frenemies to friends to lovers, a quick succession from nanny to lover but a succession that is about to pull one another apart when Jamie’s inability to compromise threatens our story line heroine. Fallon is wary of Jamie’s need for, and his complete turn around and love for our heroine, a turn around that is about to backfire when all is said and done. There are no $ex scenes, all is implied. The secondary and supporting characters include the return of Liam and Tessa, Ryleigh and Ryker, Patrick, , Arianna and Will, and their parents Kate and Shane Donovan, and uncle Ronan, as well as Fallon’s mother Caroline, and Jamie’s ex girlfriend Jenn. CHARM ME is a story of misunderstanding and miscommunication, family and friendships, relationships and love. The premise is emotional and entertaining; the romance is subtle and passionate; the characters are struggling yet determined.
