Special Delivery. Great read

I loved it. A simple story of 2 enemies who fall in love. Both stubborn in their own ways. One who enjoys challenging the other. It felt like it mildly lacked a bit of back story for one character but the book is worth the read. I finished it in less than 24 hours. 🙂 and I don’t get hooked as easily on books.

Lots of fun. I enjoyed reading this book. The pranks are funny and entertaining. The baby girl is a wonderful bonus to this story.

Error. The character Louisa’s last name changed midway through the book. It really bothered me. How and you not notice? Her last name went from Temple to James and it wasn’t explained at all.

The Special Delivery. First time reader for this author. Sweet read. Just what I needed today!

It was all right. Didn’t love or hate either main character, though more than 1/2 way though You find out their ages and it feels more off than before, by a decade. Wasn’t a strong delivery. And the prankster thing, felt forced.

Spoiler Alert. The chemistry was off. There wasn’t a great transition between Louisa and Jack from here to love. Also, as a therapist, I stand by Jack being upset about Louisa calling his parents. That wasn’t her call. JACK is the person who had to live with an abusive father and deal with the trauma of seeing him again. You don’t get to decide how and when people deal with their trauma. And it wasn’t because she thought it was the right thing to do. She didn’t as a play go figure out if Jack really liked her rather than being the 40 year old adult she is and actually TALKING to him. Have a conversation about where the relationship stands after you figure if you even want a relationship. Dont bring your his trauma for your gain under the guise of “doing the right thing.” I do a lot of trauma and family work and honestly, sometimes boundaries have to be drawn even with our own parents for the sake of our mental health and Louisa crossed a boundary that would make any real trauma patient have trouble trusting her moving forward. I would not have gotten back together with her because she clearly doesn’t respect boundaries. She might have her own opinions but she’s only see her own perspective from having decent parents, not from the perspective of someone with an abusive parent. That was my biggest issue with this book.

The Special Delivery. This was a delightful book. I could visualize this story happening. I would recommend this book to others to read.

Love story with lots of surprises. Characters have pasts and complications. Each is connected to the baby in interesting and complex ways. Enjoyable read!
