Forgotten Stars. I think this could have been one good book. However, the story is broken up into multiple books. Forgotten Stars is essentially the opening of the story and then you have to pay for the middle of the story and so on. Not a subtle way to make more money.
Just… flat, boring, and frankly unrealistic. Clearly no clue how military personnel react to each other or communicate. Speech that seems intended to be snappy is flat, even stilted. Descriptions intended to be concise and punchy are - again - flat, unimaginative. I’d say there’s good ideas here, but the author would benefit working with a coauthor
