Exhaustive. While I love the idea and premise of this novel, the author developed a world and story that seem to be in my opinion, too detailed. Explanations that could’ve been two or three sentences went on four pages. I finished because I’m a black woman and I enjoyed reading a story that expound it on prejudice in such a open way, in a fantasy world. Nevertheless, this book was exhausting to read.
This is an Afrofuturist MUST READ. N.E. Davenport’s world-building in The Blood Trials is LEGENDARY.
