Questionable at best. Incredible setting. Descriptive narrative. My favorite genres of ttrpg and isekai blended to an amazing system that felt unique. Insanely horrible pacing. A main character that was overpowered in theory, but so weak willed that he was pushed around by the narrative. Every opportunity he was given to have a semblance of backbone, he folded like a paranoid poker player. And the worst part about all of this was the fact that nothing seemed to ever happen to push a plot forward. It started out fantastic with him working towards a dream and it seemed like the narrative was building to something, but three books in literally two exciting/intriguing things have happened and I got so frustrated with the lack of substance that I was skipping pages ahead to realize that not only was the story in the same spot, but the characters were actually in the same exact location having the exact same conversation about nothing that I was trying to skip past. The whole experience felt like a high school student writing an essay just trying to make a word count. I’m never one to give up on a series, and I’ve read many a LN and manga to completion just based on the fact that it was an isekai, but I had such high hopes for this one and was disappointed at every turn. If it turns out this series actually gets good after the mid point of book 3, then I guess my loss and if you want to stick it out that far then good luck.

Loved it. This LN is why I usually only give three or four stars to perfectly enjoyable stories. YMMV, obviously, but for me, this was perfect escapist fantasy, without the usual amateurish hiccups like unnecessary repetition of exposition or overstatement of some fairly simple concept. Can’t wait for the next one.

Amazing word play. The story has a bit of a slow start in my point of view but does an amazing job of captivating the reader through the whole book. The usage of words and composition of the book is nothing less than phenomenal in my opinion. Definitely recommend this book for who ever is looking for something different in our beloved Isekai genre.

Pedophiles will do anything to justify themselves. Look I’m down for a trashy isekai, and this one has some interesting world mechanics I would have enjoyed exploring… until they literally created a race of spider people that look like children forever and “mature” quickly to justify literally drawing a sexy like 9 year old girl hitting on a 8 year old boy. Look, either she’s an adult who simply looks like a child in which case you are still sexualizing something that LOOKS like a child, and who is in turn trying to jump the bones of an actual child which make her a predator, or you own up to the fact that you’ve got some borderline erotic imagery of children.
