The characters are endearing and relatable, flaws and all. From the onset, I found myself pulled into Jake and Leah’s emotional orbit, fascinated as the layers of their complex past are peeled away to create the reader’s rapport that then drives the story. Home to Cypress Bayou. Truly enjoyed this story! Being very familiar with the area, I felt nostalgia & warmth come alive. At times I would just laugh out loud because I could relate to the story. Good job, Susan!

Loved this story!. What a wonderful first book in the Cypress Bayou series by Susan Sands. I absolutely loved Home to Cypress Bayou! A small town, southern drama full of family secrets, romance, and a hint of mystery. Did I mention the delicious food descriptions? This book had me craving some classic Louisiana cuisine the entire time! Highly recommended, I can’t wait for book number two.
