Insufficient sleep is also one of the greatest contributors to anxiety and depression. Moreover, if we do not get enough sleep, our bodies will start to release more of the hunger hormone. This will cause us to eat more and thus to gain more weight. Regardless of the fact that in the most Western nations the most preferred solution for the sleep epidemic is sleeping pills, the author disagrees with this as the best solution. After the first part, the author writes how the lack of sleep can harm us so much, that it can kill us. There are two potential ways a person can die because of lack of sleep.
