Oh my goodness, this book was fantastically written and I felt like I was on the edge of my seat right from the very beginning! Lala and Mysk have a hard battle ahead of them, doomed from the very beginning with nothing except genetics pulling them together, yet they both want so much from their relationship and from each other. Lala has some impossible choices ahead of her, between her mate and her upbringing, the ‘Topians versus the Xeno Consortium, and figuring out what she should or shouldn’t do. She had an inner strength that wouldn’t let her quit or take the easy routes, but she also had so many vulnerabilities. Mysk is consumed by vengeance, but once he found his genmate, he also found bits of calm and peace. He’s driven, he’s devoted, and he has no clue that his world views are about to be rocked. Their connection is fast paced, and I loved that this book did not focus on the physical, but on building the world around them and setting the scene for all that’s to come. There is a lot of drama, a lot of danger, and a lot of heart pounding! This book ends on a cliffhanger, and I’m already dying to know what’s going to happen next to these enemies turned mates!

Cliffhanger. Great story (like everything else she writes), but a horrible cliffhanger. You’re paying for part 1 of 3: paying to be kept waiting. Normally i give all her stuff 5stars: they have great story lines & hot sex but i hate cliffhangers!
