Love it!!. I just love it all!! Couldn’t put it down, if I woke up at night I read until I fell back to sleep and read every chance I could. Can’t wait to read more of Cat and Bones!!

Fantastic way to start a binge read of series.. As a huge fan of Night Huntress (I will never confess to how many times I have read the series) I have been counting down to Bone's POV since I heard it was a possibility. After all Bones is my all time favorite vampire. I am not sure if it is because he is a Brit, his gorgeousness or his love of Cat, but I can't resist Bones. The other half of the Grave not only gave me Bone's POV, but allowed me to get in his head thanks to the author. She shared what he was thinking. It really added to the story. The story was packed full of action. Bones is sort of a vampire bounty hunter. He comes across some really interesting characters that never just surrender. While searching he comes across Cat. He is not impressed with her until he gets to know her. Who would have thought a person like her existed. He is besotted. He is in love. She can't stand him, at least in the beginning. You don't have to like your partner, to work together. Action hits the extreme. Bullets Fly. Knives are thrown. Bones and Cat end up in the thick of things. There will be consequences. Will it destroy their love or make it stronger? I needed more Bones and Cat when I finished the story. I went back and read Halfway to the Grave and then read The Other Half of the Grave. Now I am thinking about alternating both books. I can't think of the last time I have been so completely satisfied with a book, refusing to move on.

Like Midnight Sun but not at the same level. Like Midnight Sun, we get to see the ancient vampire Bones' thoughts when he first meets Cat, the vampire hunter. Cat, of course, is far less innocent than Bella Swan. She has made a habit of murdering vampires with a stake. I didn't like Bones' inner monologue as much as I liked Cat's. I received a review copy from NetGalley and have left my opinion. The moment when he looks at her glowing eyes was weird to read from his perspective. I don't know if it's because I know how the scenes play out that this book has lost the experience I had when I read Cat's side of things, but I can tell it is the same author with the same plot - but it doesn't hit the same way.

Nostalgia+. What an absolute treat! I loved Cat and Bones in the past and I got to relive it all again! Getting Bones’ perspective was even better after all this time because we really get to see how he fell in love and all the really cute thoughts he had about Cat from the beginning. I can’t help but smile thinking about it! This was a total five star read for me. It took my nostalgia to another level but it’s able to stand in its own—I think I would have loved it had I never read the other books. It’s just that good!!!

Thrilled. One of my most favorite book series from the perspective of Bones? Yes please! Fantastic, wishing for the entire series now!

Nostalgia with a side of sexy!. Nostalgia. Nostalgia is exactly what I’m feeling while reading The Other Half of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost. It’s been so many years since I’ve been able to slip into this world. Excuse me while I give a little backstory folks. My book bestie Kathy and I started our blog in January 2013. We started it after we connected over Twilight and then we moved to Charlene Harris and from Charlene, we went straight into Jeaniene Frost's Cat and Bone's series. We read and reread these books over and over. Kathy and I met while our families were both stationed in England so Bone's cavalier British accent and “devil may care” hit a chord with both of us since we were now living back in the states and missing life in the UK terribly. So when I saw that Frost is releasing book one from Bone's POV I immediately jumped at the chance to read it. The thing I didn't expect was to be immersed in memories of my friend. We lost Kathy a few years ago to breast cancer. And as I read this book I had so many memories of the first time we read and discussed this book. The discussions, laughter, pouring over our reviews, and comparing our notes... there’s just so much. So my “book review” is five stars because I love everything Jeaniene Frost, but the memories, love, friendship, and the sharing I was able to do with my best friend over these books are immeasurable. I don’t really realize just how much I truly missed my friend until something comes up and I’m not able to share it with her. It’s a melancholy sadness, yet I’m grateful to be able to revisit these forgotten memories I had with my friend. Anyway… bouncing lucifers balls this was good. I thank you, Jeaniene Frost, with tears and a smile.

Bones reboot. Love this new story! Love this character even more since reading this book!

Nice trip down memory lane. Cat and Bones are one of the best PNR couples of all time. This was a very nice look into Bones’ side of their beginning. I would have liked a little bit more of Bones, Spade, and Ian’s relationships, since there’s over 200 years of history there, and none of that was included in “Halfway to the Grave”. Time to re-read the whole Night Huntress series (again)!

Great Book!. I love this series and I was excited to read the story from Bones' perspective. It was as great as when I read the original. I felt like it added to the original story to read his thoughts and feelings. I will always read and recommend this author’s books. I received a free copy of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

FINALLY BONES POV 😫😫😫. I will always love Jeaniene Frost and her spicy vampire books 🤩🤩 and this book is no different, although it diverts from the typical format, being told from Bones’ POV rather than the FMC. Even though there’s not a lot of new content, being a retelling of Book 1, it was still really interesting getting a glimpse into one of our fav Vampires 🥵. I’ve reread the Night Huntress world twice already, yet each re-read (and this retelling) always provides more insight into the fuller story. And when Jeaniene started publishing this as a short serial on her blog, I WAS SO EXCITED FOR BONESSSS. I remember reading each chapter as it came out, comparing it to the corresponding content in Halfway to the Grave. I was devastated when Jeaniene stopped, but SURPRISE, we get a FULL book of Bones!!! WOOOOO! So it’s been a year or two since I last re-read the series, and I’ve definitely forgotten a few details. But since this is a retelling of the first book, I decided to judge this book both inside the context of the Night Huntress world and as its own work. In this book, I really enjoyed Bones’ voice (oh, Brits 😫). However, insta-love almost never does it for me and this book was no different. I simply don’t believe in love at first sight, and it’s hard for me to envision it, especially as a motivating force for most of the book’s action. Knowing Bones fell in love with Cat almost immediately was a lot easier to hear about in his confessions rather than seeing a play-by-play. Also, when told from Bones’ POV, Cat is lowkey a dislikable character 😬. She often acts in a too stupid to live manner, charging into this Vampiric business when she clearly doesn’t understand the gravity of the situation or the consequences of her actions. Also, knowing the vampire world through this series, the bigotry Cat has is really hard to read. When this was told from her POV, it was a lot easier to understand the way she thinks and the way her family and community has twisted her perception of vampires and herself. And this makes sense in her overall character arc throughout the series. Cat definitely grows and learns a lot throughout the series, but her flaws just didn’t seem as apparent and clear when told from her own voice (which makes sense I guess). However, from Bones’ POV, it does just seem quite strange(?) that mans falls in love with a girl that’s SUPERRRR discriminatory against people (vampires) like him—I mean girl literally murders every one she sees. This is just a Thing that I would probably blame on the faults of the OG story (it was Jeaniene’s first book 🥲), but just seeing it expounded upon through Bones’ words is just a weird out-of-body experience to me. As always, Jeaniene is able to bring in the S P I C E. Told from Bones’ side, we get an added little detail of a little fist pump action we didn’t get to see in book 1 👀👀👀👀. But even though I know I’ve read the smut from Cat’s POV, it’s still so hot from Bones. I’m definitely going to go through and read these side-by-side at some point to get the ~full experience. *evil cackles 😃😃* Overall, for fans of Jeaniene Frost, this is a great book to further explore the nuances of the NH world and to fall back to a story we loved long ago. For readers who haven’t been introduced to this world, I definitely would not start with this book. It’s definitely a lot weaker as a stand-alone than as extra context. Alas, it does feel a bit like Jeaniene is trying to milk out the money from NH without providing anything ~that new BUT IT’S OK BECAUSE WE LOVE JEANIENE!!!! As a NH die-hard stan I will consume all content, but tbh I’d much prefer some more Vlad or Ian up in here 🥵🥵. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the free eARC for an honest review!

Other Half of the Grave. Excellent book. Bones is one of my favorite characters and Jeaniene Frost did the character proud.

Leaves me wanting more. I so badly want her to continue with his pov. Seriously like all the way to book V!!!! Especially book IV. What was he doing the whole time he left. Love this series so much!!!

A great love story. An original story told about two beloved characters from the point of view of Master Vampire Bones. They meet when Cat (kitten) half Vampire/human is using all her skills to kill Vampires. Her family life having shaped her destiny. This was all to change when she meets Bones who falls all the way for her. This is a love story that will transcend different sides and will give fans the thrill of returning to the beginning of a much loved series. I was given an Arc of this book by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Welcome Back Cat and Bones. I love the Night Huntress world and have read every single Cat and Bones book and all the off-shoots as well. Seeing the first instalment through Bones’ view point was brilliant. This book has a real place in my heart and I just need Jeaniene Frost to write all the remainder of the series from Bones’ view!

Bones the most patient, loving Vampire !. I absolutely loved the Night Huntress series about Cat and Bones so finally getting his point of view was a must read for me. I can honestly say I'm not disappointed and its just as detailed and passionate as I'd hoped. It's an intense story with fabulous world building because obviously Vampires do have a hierarchy that this book starts to give clues about. Expect action and plenty of it, twists, loads of heat and best of all Bones feeling and being the most patient, loving Vampire that any reader could wish for. It's intense at times, funny too but these Vampires don't mess around and I'm already very eager to go back and re-read the whole series again ! This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

The book felt like going back home. I cried with joy when I started it.. I received a free copy of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I would also thank Jeaniene Frost for making this Bones POV. This book was next level in the Night Huntress series. Cat and Bones are one of my favorite fictional couples. The book felt like going back home. I cried with joy when I started it. I always wanted to know the POV of Bones. How he saw his first meeting with Cat and the development of his feeling for her. I wasn’t disappointed. Bones will always be in my heart. He is loyal, funny and so hot. He takes the Who hurt you to the next level! I could not tell how much I highlight in the ebook. My heart melts so many times for him. Everyone should have a Bones in their life, minus the murder, but I would love him to train me. The sex scenes are great and well written, but I still prefer them from Cat's POV. After reading them, it could have been great to have them in the first book. I would recommend reading this book after reading the first novel, Halfway to the grave. I hope we will be lucky to have another book from his POV.

The Other Half of Vampire True Love. Wow! What a powerful love story. Even though I had read and loved Halfway to the Grave, I enjoyed The Other Half of the Grave as if thrilling with the action and excitement for the first time. Cat was filled with such self-loathing because of her mother’s bigoted indoctrination against Cat’s half-vampire heritage. Bones was determined to show her that she was special, valued, and worthy and that good and evil existed on both sides of the human/vampire divide. Bones’ perspective embodies longing, wisdom, humour, and honour. This story is now so much richer for him having his side of the story. There were times that I almost skimmed ahead, I was so eager to get to the next stage of the story that I knew was coming. I loved witnessing their relationship develop from respect, to trust, to love. Cat and Bones forever, until the stars burn out! I received a free copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
