Leif Montgomery is All Grown Up. Leif Montgomery is all grown up, jumping 20 years after we first met him in Delicate Ink. Austin’s son has opened his own tattoo shop and is an artist. Unlike his dad, Leif an artist using various mediums, not just skin & tattooing. He has small business worries of closing and fears of failing as a legacy tattoo artist and not being enough. Brooke Adler is a single mom drawn back to the area she called home with her son Luke. She’s hopeful this is a step in their right direction for both her career and doing what is her for her son. Brooke & Leif previously met in Paris. We do not get the full details of their time together, but rather a snippets of some details of their time together. Personally I think these details would have made this story better since it’s a second Chance romance and we don’t know all the details of the initial relationship.

The next generation of Montgomerys is here!. The next generation of Montgomerys starts off with a bang! Leif is all grown up and with his family surrounding him, his second chance at love story did not disappoint. Leif Montgomery and Brooke Alder first meeting in Paris gave them a path they both agreed on but ended differently. This is their story after they get an unexpected second chance, it had swoon worthy moments, high heat level and a family that surrounds them in love. I loved this first story of what looks to be a memorable series and I can’t wait for more!

Hello next generation. This book is a great way to introduce the Montgomery’s next generation. Leif is an amazing you man who met Brooke when he was finding himself, due to wires being crossed they lost touch and had hurt feelings. Life brought them back together and the ember was reunited…. This is an amazing story and we get to see the Montgomery’s we have come to love and begun the introduction to the new generation.

Quite enjoyed this!!. I quite enjoyed this! I wasn’t completely sure at first who this was about (though I guessed right!), but was ecstatic to find out it was Leif, Austin & Sierra’s son. I loved his story, I loved the OG Montgomery’s being around, and I look forward to what comes next. I will need a family tree to remember who goes with who though for future books, since it’s been so long lol. There’s a whole lotta Montgomery’s out there!

Leif’s story - wonderful!. Oh my goodness! After all of the trials and tribulations Leif Montgomery has had in his life, his story - much anticipated btw - is finally here and Carrie Ann Ryan does not disappoint! Add in Brooke Alder, a smart, strong and sassy single mom from Leif’s past? An absolutely wonderful edition to the many Montgomery Ink stories! While not having seen one another since Paris many years ago, on Brooke’s move in- day to her new home in Colorado where she meets her new neighbor, Lake, who shows up? Leif! Turns out, Lake is Leif’s cousin…a small world. But there are misunderstandings for Brooke and Leif to work through from their past in Paris. And that’s only one of the challenges. Brooke is a very devoted single mom to a wonderful little boy, Luke, and a busy college professor/researcher in a very demanding scientific field (so very accurately portraying the plight of women in academia within the field of science IMHO), who doesn’t have a lot of spare time for socializing. While Lief does not have as many demands, his life is complicated, too. But the spark they felt in Paris? It hasn’t diminished a bit! Following how these two sort through the complications in their lives, both past and present, plus the delightful supporting characters, both Montgomery family members (including “honorary” members) and friends (May, Brooke’s nanny for her son, Luke), makes this a beautifully romantic story!

A second chance with a first love. How is it possible that the sweet and serious little boy I remember from Delicate Ink is all grown up and has his own romance book?! Leif is definitely all man now, but still dealing with feelings of inadequacy, despite the loving Montgomery family who embraced him at 10 years old and still has his back two decades later. Brooke is a single mother, living in a "new" town with her son Luke, ready to start a new job. While the surroundings are familiar, much has changed since she lived here before. One person she never expected to see was Leif, the boy she met and fell for in Paris as a teen. One miscommunication and 10 years later, Brooke is now the neighbor of Leif's cousin Lake, and the attraction is still there. But neither is interested in a relationship...ha, that's what they all say! So, a friendship is renewed, a new connection between Brooke and Leif, as well as his with young Luke, emerges and sparks reignite. I loved Brooke's independence as much as I adored Leif's instincts to take over and make things better. And his almost instant connection with Luke is simply swoon-worthy. It reminds me so much of the relationship Leif developed with his mom Sierra as a boy. Those protective instincts come naturally through dad Austin as well. Readers hear about Brooke and Leif's Paris love affair, but I would have loved a few flashbacks to that time...hinting here at a prequel, Carrie Ann Ryan! While longtime readers will thrill at the inclusion of "old guard" Montgomery members such as Leif's parents, new and existing fans will be excited to meet grown up cousins such as Lake as well as Leif's best friend and partner, Nick. Every book in the Montgomery universe can be read as a stand-alone, but I hope those who have not read the book that introduced Leif, Delicate Ink, will go back and read it. Because you'll need to do something while we wait for Lake's book to come out early next year. And from the looks of things...it's gonna be a doozy! Bittersweet Promises, and author Carrie Ann Ryan, get 5 big stars and this readers gratitude that the Mongomery Ink family lives on in the next generation.

Worth the wait. Yes! I love those Montgomery’s and now that the younger kids are all grown up I’m loving them even more. Leif and Brooke are everything together plus who would love sweet Luke. The story was entertaining to read along with keeping my attention throughout the book. These Montgomery Legacy books are going to be so much fun to read. Until next time y’all happy reading.

Ending is wrong. There wasn’t an ending to the story of Leif & Brooke. The author abruptly added a character that was minor at the end.

A beautiful falling in love story, for the second time. This everyday story will draw you in and make you feel it all. I love that Leif and Brooke are in their thirties, yet like so many of us don’t feel like “grownups” all the time, but I liked them both and was rooting for them from the beginning. Troubles come for them, misconceptions have them confused and I couldn’t stop reading. I love the Montgomerys and this tale made my heart happy!❤️

An absolutely FANTASTIC read!. This is book 1 in the Montgomery Ink Legacy series and it features Leif, Austin’s and Sierra’s son, and Brooke, who’s from Leif’s past in Paris. These two seemed destined to be together. Across time and space, they meet again over 10 years later and all those feelings resurface again. Now she has a young son and a new job. Can she juggle all that and a Montgomery too? The past doesn’t always stay in the past for good…or bad. FANTASTIC STORY! I love reading about the next generation of Montgomerys. As amazing as the parents were, it’s nice to know that this next generation doesn’t have it all figured out yet. There was tremendous character growth and still more to come. Chapter 21 BLEW ME AWAY! I most definitely wasn’t expecting it and now I can’t wait for the next book!

Second Chance Love. Leif Montgomery is done with dating. His cousin Lake set him up on a blind date but he felt no sparks. This has been the case with all the women he has dated recently. Instead, he decides he wants to focus solely on his business, Montgomery Ink Legacy. Leif is a talented tattoo artist but he has an artistic talent across many mediums, such as charcoal and clay. Montgomery Ink Legacy has only been open a year but he worries it won't live up to the reputation of his father's shop, Montgomery Ink. Brooke Adler is moving home to Denver with her five year old son Luke. After establishing herself as a successful professor at CalTech, she has taken an offer as a Physics professor at Denver State University. She is doing all on her own as her parents are both gone. Not to worry, her neighbor is Lake Montgomery. Lake is ready and willing to bring Brooke and Luke in to the Montgomery family fold with the help of Leif. Amazingly, this is not the first time Brooke and Leif have met. Ten years prior, when they were only 18, the pair had had a torrid affair while in Paris. They had promised to reconnect in the states but fate had other plans. Bittersweet Promises captured me from the very beginning and was difficult for me to put done. I completed it in one sitting. I could relate to Brooke, a single independent woman struggling to be successful in a male dominated world. It's hard for her to allow someone else to step in and do things for her. I enjoyed following Brooke and Leif's story and fell in love Brooke's five year old son Luke! With the Montgomery family, Carrie Ann Ryan has built my favorite kind of series, one in which you become familiar with a large circle of people who become like your friends and family. People you are excited to visit with each new installment. I can't wait to see where Montgomery Ink Legacy takes me.

Fantastic. Absolutely love Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell who do a fabulous job in narrating this already amazing book. Leif and Brooke meet each other in Paris when they were young and missed there opportunity to be together. Years later, they come across each other and find out that they missed their connection with each other in Paris and start a fresh beginning in their relationship. Do you absolutely love Carrie Ann Ryan and her writing style, and the way that she gets the best narrators for to do her books.

What a fabulous new spin off series - Montgomery Ink Legacy. Bittersweet Promises is the new series, Montgomery Ink Legacy, by Carrie Ann Ryan which carries on from the original Montgomery Ink series. We are now starting the journeys of the next generation, and if this book is any indication, then we have a lot to look forward to! This new series kicks off with Leif Montgomery (the eldest of the next generation) and his second chance at love story with Brooke Alder. There were circumstances beyond their control, and hurdles they will need to overcome in the here and now, but there is plenty attraction and passion that hasn't been forgotten. This book had plenty of moments where you laugh, where you swoon and where you feel tears fill your eyes... a real emotional rollercoaster. I can't wait to see what else this new series has to deliver. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Leif fell hard for Brooke.. Great start to the new generation of Montgomery’s, this is Austin and Sierra's son Lief’s story. He’s all grown up and seeking his own HEA with Brook, the one from years past that got away. Brooke now a single mum with her awesome son Luke have moved to Denver for a fresh start, with a new job and she just happens to move in next door to Lake (Leif’s cousin). And then the job, that coworker…. Leif while visiting his cousin never expected to bump into a blast from his time in Paris many years ago. The chemistry between the two still exists, he has to tread carefully though as it’s not just the two of them. Then there was that note, phone call… Recommend reading. This is a well written book with an awesome storyline with a few ups and downs, which makes it a great addition to the Montgomery books. You don’t need to read previous books but it does help. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I received from Carrie Anne Ryan a free BookFunnel copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Montgomery NexGen !!. This book is about Leif (Austin and Sierra) he is all grown up and running Montgomery Ink Legacy with some of his cousins and best friend. Brooke is starting a new life in Denver and she happens to move in next door to Lake (Leif’s cousin). This was a great read and the chemistry between Leif and Brooke 🔥. Entertaining. If Bittersweet Promises is anything to go by then Carrie Ann Ryan has a winning series on her hands. From the first chapter I was invested in this next generation with Leif Montgomery and Brooke Alder’s second chance at love story. Years ago Leif thought that Brooke was his forever but circumstances tore them apart. Fast forward and he is shocked when he visits his cousin to discover single mother Brooke living next door. Re connecting again it is obvious that the passion and attraction is just as bright as it once was. However they both have to come to terms with the past before they can make a future together. I really liked both Leif and Brooke; he knew who he wanted and was determined to win her back. Brooke is such a loving mother, determined and focused and one I admired.. There were moments where I swooned, moments that brought me to tears and moments that had me smiling. All in all an entertaining well written story and I CNN wait to read more tin this latest series.

I have not read a lot of the Montgomery books so I did not know a lot of the characters in the story but this was a good start to a new series with the next generation. Audio... Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell did a great job as always with the narration. 4 Maple Leafs for Bittersweet Promises which contains… artist (tattoo), single mom, second chance, romantic suspense, dual first-person point of view.

Another Generation To Love!. Oh my goodness! I have always loved the Montgomerys and all of their crazy antics. Getting to follow along with all the families and their many adventures just warms my heart. The families, friends, businesses and escapades they all seem to attract are so captivating. With Lief’s story, we have the beginning of the next generation of Montgomerys and his tale is just as engaging as the generation before. I love how we still get to catch up with the rest of the family like a visit home for a special occasion. I can’t wait to see where she takes us next! For those that are new to the Montgomerys, you will have no trouble following along and may even find yourself compelled to go back and see how it all started. I loved it so much I couldn’t put it down!

Exceptional launch to the next generation!!. Leif blew my mind. I loved his dedication to not letting the spark and connection with Brooke go unchecked. Further, his fierce protectiveness without the need to take control was so hot. I can’t not comment on how sweet and fun Leif’s relationship with Luke was. Brooke is the epitome of the ultimate self sufficient, brilliant super mom!! But I felt every minute of her self doubt on if she was enough - a good enough mother to Luke or a focused enough professional at work. Her son Luke is hilarious and added the perfect level of levity to the story. But Brooke with Leif is simple undeniable and meant to be. The building tension between Nick and Lake left me anxious for the next installment in the series. Carrie Ann Ryan is just amazing!! She is an absolute must buy!
