YEAAAAAHHHH CeeCee!!!!. This is one of those feel good books, that even though it is written from the perspective of a 12 year old even a 39 year old can relate. I think I started cheering for CeeCee from the beginning. Even though her circumstances could have hardened her and also driven her crazy she grew and blossomed and you know her future was indeed bright. Proves that we also must move away from what is familiar sometimes to excel, even from family and hometowns.

Saving CeeCee Honeycutt. FANTASTIC!! This is a book that makes you laugh and cry. Brought out the tragedy of mental illness. It seems that this book should have a sequel. A book I plan to purchase for my elderly Mother. After reading this book and The Help I got the story lines mixed up.

Sweet peaceful read.. Takes me back in time, to a more genteel time. We think of the 60's as turbulent, but more and more, I think today is worse in some ways. This book, tells me how. Sometimes a simple book says more, holds more, than all the exciting action books can ever thrill.

Saving CeeCee Honeycutt. This is a wonderful book. I loved the way the author would describe things. I wish I could be part of this group of females!

Hope-filled and Beautiful. Beth Hoffman's SAVING CEECEE HONEYCUTT: A charming peek into one girl's summer as she recovers from a painful tragedy and ends up finding her heart and a home. Throughout the first part of the book, as the reader sees CeeCee's mother's psychosis through CeeCee's eyes, we experience heartbreak for a twelve-year-old girl who simply wants to be normal. After her mother dies and her father coldly lets her go, CeeCee goes to live with her great-aunt in an idyllic town in Georgia. Through her interactions, she works through the various emotions surrounding the tragedy, and, as the reader, I found myself healing along with CeeCee. I highly recommend this coming-of-age novel, for its vivid glimpse at a life healing from tremendous pain, and at the hope found in ordinary summer days in a home filled with love.

Saving CeeCee Honeycutt. What a truly happy, sad, funny novel of courage and hope. As a child of a woman who suffered from much the same mental illness as Camille, I related to the confused mother/daughter love she had for her mama. The women who saved her are a cast of characters to adore. This would make a fabulous movie. The descriptions of the characters, Savannah and the billowy prom dresses would translate so well on the Big Screen!!!

Great Read. This was a great book with a Southern flavor. Similar in tone to The Help. A sad tale abut a little girl with a troubled childhood, who ended up in a great home with many friends. Humor and tragedy woven together for a great summer read.

Wonderful book!. I enjoyed this sweet and funny book! It reminded me so much of my 1960’s childhood. I was raised in South Georgia and still live here so I can relate to the southern humor. I highly recommend this book for southern ladies who have enjoyed living in the South.
