Meh.. It’s good... but it’s not good... The story for this one is very interesting, and I do think the whole invisible sword thing was pretty cool. And even the long dragged on talking scenes are also kind of interesting. The character Nile, was awesome! But afraid of heights!? Seriously!? Those are all the good parts. Now the reasons I did not like this book... As I said before, afraid of heights!? Why did Nile have to die? I thought he’d be Yassen’s replacement! Why can’t the bad guy live for once!? Also a good spy story is meant to have action, witch for such a long book, this one really lacked! Even though the very few action scenes are still pretty cool, it really should’ve had more action. All in all, this book is pretty dissent, but honestly, I think it could’ve been better... Hopefully, ark angel will be better.

Amazing. This book is tied for first with Ark Angel and Scorpia Rising in my mind. I'm a 12 year old who loves the Alex Rider books and this book is like a book heaven! I love how Anthony Horowitz describes Alex's battle against himself trying to decide MI6 or his dad's legacy. There are so many twists and turns in this book and it is definitely a must read. It kept me on the edge of my seat-or wherever I was reading it- the whole time. Before I realized there was another book, I was really sad about the last chapter. I don't want to give anything away though. I recommend this book for 13 year olds and older. -Little Young Me 🤗

Awesome. This is my favorite book in the whole freaking series! That scene where alex almost kills ms. Jones... SO FREAKING AMAZING! I would give this 25 stars if I could!

Brilliantly Written. Amazing Story.. This book is one of the best I have ever read. Anthony Horowitz has done it again with the fifth book in the incredible Alex Rider series. It holds a lot of action and adventure. At the end of each chapter there is always a suspenseful cliffhanger challenging you to read on. My favorite part was in the end when Alex Rider was with Scorpia and... I don’t want to give it away but let’s just say, it ends with a bang! Alex Rider can either chose to follow his Dad’s footsteps or follow the path of his heart. His decision in this book is completely unexpected and defiantly changes things for the characters. Anthony Horowitz writes with such extreme vivid details. When Alex fights he describes it so well, it feels like you are in the battle zone. Which speaking of it there defiantly is lot of fighting. Alex must save Hundreds of Thousands of children’s lives before it is too late. The criminal organization responsible for this sinister act is Scorpia. But Alex is not necessarily fighting against them. The ending is not on the last chapter it is actually more on the third-to-last chapter. Then, on the second-to-last chapter an extremely unexpected twist occurs. It is such a perfect ending to this kind of story. Then, finally, on the last chapter, something happens that will make you hold your breath as you read. You won’t be able to put this book down. In the end, it is a fabulous read and is deftly worth the time. I would differently recommend it and would rate is five out of five stars (5/5). But before you read this book you must make sure that you read the first four books in the series that come before it. Sometimes the scenes refer back to those books.

Best book yet. This is the best AR book yet! It's a cliff hanger is packed with action and excitement. This is a great series and book! I encourage readers who like spies action and these type of books to read it, HIGHLY.

Favorite!. This is by far my favorite in the series so far! Especially the end! I'm dying just waiting for the next book to finish loading and begin reading!

I liked it. It was a good book but it was just a little short for 9 bucks. It only took me 2 hours 36 minutes and 37 seconds (yes I timed it)

Alex Battles His Past. Alex's investigation of Scorpia soon turns into his most difficult mission yet. A prominent Scorpia leader brings Alex face-to-face with his father's past, filling him with confusion and inner turmoil. Feeling betrayed by MI6, Alex begins his training with Scorpia. All the while the clock is ticking down to Scorpia's next attack, a sophisticated plot which will kill thousands, including Alex. The author really makes you care about the characters in this story. The next-to-last chapter is incredible as Alex relives the loss of his parents, and anger and hurt give way to reconciliation. The last pages are terrifying and yet somehow beautiful at the same time. Such a gifted author. My favorite book in this superb series.
