Delightful. Candace has gifted the world with another masterpiece. Literature after Marcel Proust. Dripping with wit bursting with irony. True art, real delight.

Over done. The story line of the young, slightly insecure, trying to find herself high school girl has been way over done time and time again. For example the story line is also already been done by the TV show Jane by Design in the last couple years.

Coming of Age Novel. I am a huge Sex & the City fan, therefore, I expected this novel to pop from the start. I will be honest, it was a little slow until almost the middle of the book. There, the "witty" and "loveable" Carrie emerged. There were a few jaw dropping moments, but some parts were incredibly predictable. It's an easy read, however, I did feel that it was missing an element of Carrie we saw onscreen. Maybe the sequel, "Summer & the City," will develop her unique character better. I'll be purchasing that one very soon. It's a good book, but just the fact that it's labeled as a 'children's' book should tell you something...

LOVE. This book was such a great read! It was awesome to get some background on Carrie Bradshaw. I love how Candice B. showed us how Carrie ended up in New York! The fact that Samantha Jones is Donna LaDonna's cousin is GENIUS! The transition is seamless! Looking forward to the movie! JustJonsie

Terrible!. While I was excited to meet "Pre-New York City, 30-Something" Carrie, I was terribly disappointed by Bushnell's pushover and boy-crazy character. The book didn't introduce us to that brave Jane Austin-esque heroine we've all come to know and love but rather- I felt sorry for her, like one would for a tragic female character in a Shakespeare drama (like that nit-wit Desdemona). Don't waste your time. And Ms. Bushnell- please stop promoting smoking in your books!!!! Young girls read these and shouldn't have a false "cool" impression of smoking in 2010!

OMG!! MUST GET!!. THE BEST BOOK I HAVE READ IN SUCH A LONG TIME! It is sooo addicting! I couldn't put it down. It explains so much about Carrie before sex in the city!

Fun read. If you are a Sex and the City fan I think you will enjoy the book. Kinda reads like a book written for a teenager, but it is nice to hear about Carrie's life before she mooched to New York. I would love to read the next installment if there was one!

Fun. Absolutely loved this book. I did not want it to end. Yes, there is smoking, but it was the 80's! Refreshing and fun read with a great cast of characters.

Loved It!. Loved reading about young Carrie! As a SATC fanatic, this was a must! I loved it!!! Looking forward to finishing up the sequel "Summer & the City".

Fun quick read but not true to the show. Loved the book but why change Carrie's beginning as we knew on the show? We learn her Dad was a deadbeat & her Mom raised her - would it have been that hard to stay true? I remember in the show Miranda & Carrie sitting on the steps outside talking about their dads and Carrie wonders if she'll always be messed up about men because of her daddy issues. Miranda counters that her Dad was always home @ 5 on the dot and she was messed up too.

LUVED IT!!. I'm 14 and I had never seen sex and the city in my life but I absolutely luved this book!!!!! I cudnt put it down I finished it in 1 day!!! It is the most addicting book I have ever read and trust me I read a lot... I highly recommend it for everyone in 8th or higher!!!

Although uneventful it's entertaining. The Carrie Diaries was relate able and was full of typical teenage drama and had lots of personality! Personally I only read the book because I heard they're starting a series on the cw network! The plot was predictable but entertaining but the ending fell short. Hopefully the next book will be better! :)

Great. It is a good book, specially if you want to know how Carrie was before she moved to The City.

The Carrie Diaries- Compelling. I could not stop reading this book. I'd always look forward to it because it was so captivating. The characters are phenomenal, especially Maggie. You'll never become bored due to all the surprises the book contains. Truly remarkable and my favorite book yet!

It was cute. It was a pretty entertaining and quick read. It was hard to get past the inconsistencies only because I love the show so much! But if you look at it as just a book, it's enjoyable. I was shocked at the inconsistencies especially since the author wrote many of the episodes for the show.

Could not put it down. This book never left my hands until the very last page. I enjoyed reading about Carrie and her life before Mr. Big. Can't wait for the sequel!!!

Fun summer read. So far I like it, it's definitely more suited for the teen set but I love the show. However I find it necessary to point out an inconsistency only 70 or so pages in. Carrie told the old quack at Vogue, the one who helped her with her first piece and then let her check out The Closet where he stripped down to his chonies and came on to her, that her dad quit her when she was little and she never knew him. Which is not the case here in the book. I don't know why this bothers me...
